I wanted Fonseca to succeed at Roma, and there were always signs of something good, but ultimately his side seemed woefully unprepared for big games, often gutless in truth. I think he could be very good at the right club, but he's coming off a very worrying season. They picked up their first and only win over a top-eight side right at the end of the season. Don't think they were much better against the top teams in 19/20. Frequently shambolic defensively as well, though not helped by Roma's annual injury crisis. It really wasn't all negative though, and I'm not a believer in writing managers off after they've had a bad spell somewhere. Wasn't long ago that people on here treated Moyes as if he was a bad joke, when anyone with a balanced view could see that he had managerial ability, albeit wasn't suited to some of his former clubs.
