I've been wanting Coady to move on for a while now but the closer it's gotten the less I've wanted it. The nicest man in football. Sent from my Pixel 4a (5G) using Tapatalk
To get in Senesi, Neto, Rothwell, Fredericks and Tavernier for under £24m is brilliant business on paper. Would still like 1-2 more signings but the squad is certainly beginning to look like it can give survival a real go. Need to see the other 4 play, but hopefully they follow the path of Tavernier, who was outstanding on Saturday.
Well considering this was sparked over people discussing Nottingham Forest's spending I'd argue it is very relevant. Two sides who haven't felt the need to fork out £30m+ on anybody and are still in the league. And Brighton are very comfortable in it. Blaming other sides because a club has consistently made absolutely terrible transfer calls is stupidity at its finest - no shocker who it came from. An absolute sea of options out there, and you go and spend your millions on players like Davy Klaassen, Michael Keane and Alex Iwobi.
The top 6 set the spend....the rest fall in line. If there wasn't billions in the game nobody would paying these figures. Why are there billions in the game? I hear you ask. Because of people like you and other plastics who have never been anywhere near the city never mind attend a match at club they support. Why did you edit your post??
People make bad decisions because they are stupid. You give someone stupid £100m, £200m, £300m to spend they aren't going to suddenly spend it well. It is pretty simple, John. Hence Everton nearly got relegated and probably will do again.
No your wrong, the gulf in monetary terms between Premier league and the Championship, means teams who come up will always have a lower record signing figure generally. Unless you have been relegated of course from the top league. You will have to ask others on this subject for obvious reasons.
If I'd have known this PL lark was going to be this much fun, I'd have wanted us to do it sooner.......
If this transfer goes through for what is being reported (£40m) they'd have a higher record signing than Leicester City, Wolves, Southampton, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, Brighton, Brentford, Leeds, Bournemouth, Fulham.
These clubs are yoyo clubs like I said earlier. They will have lower record spend because they won't have spent as much time in the top league. Compare the figure with the ever presents and Newcastle for example.
For 6 months do one lad. Fact remains the league spend is inflated due to plastics around the world. End of
It is an outrageous fee, and Forest fans wouldn't and aren't disputing that. He had a very good season in the Championship last year, but I think most people would have expected him to go for in the region of £15-20 million. It just isn't in line with what players of a similar quality, age and even nationality that have done well at the same standard of football are going for. It isn't £30 million, Wolves would turn down £30 million if they've turned down £35 million including add-ons. And if your set in only considering the initial fee they're paying, then you've got to do similar with all the deals you'd be comparing it to - making it just as excessive a fee.
Jheez lads, calm the **** down will you? I've been on the blower to Forest this afternoon and told them the PL section of FF is a bit annoyed at us so they've agreed to send the new signings back and we're just going to go with the U23 side captained by Harry Arter for the rest of the season. Lingard is ok about it as he thinks a new Tok Tik praising West Ham will be enough for them to double his current £200k a week wage, Toffolo and O'Brien are fine as they only joined to get Jack Colback to admit that it was a penalty at Wembley anyway but Dean Henderson is a bit nervy about being returned to Man Utd......not sure why.....
Missed this actually. Everton fan calling a side who won the Premier League in 2016 a yo-yo club. Crikey.
