In 1996, Mazinho and Srđan Bajčetić played together at Celta Vigo.

In 2022, Mazinho's son Thiago was substituted for Srdan Bajčetić's son Stefan to make his Champions League debut.

He's fortunate we got a point on the first day, otherwise he'd be going for Palaces season opening record.

On that point Palace of 17/18 are now my inspiration...

I saw a stat saying it’s the worst since West Ham also conceded 22 goals in 7 games in 1965/66.

I wonder how far you have to go back to find a worse opening top flight defensive record than us.

Just to put that into perspective that’s 5 more goals that we conceded in our first 7 (one point less as well fwiw) in ‘93 and we went on conceded 100 goals that season (42 games)

Yeah there’s been some absolutely crazy Leicester vs Spurs games over the years.

Just off the top of my head I can think of a 5-4, a 4-4, a 6-1, a 6-2, a couple of 4-3s, a 4-2, a couple of 3-2s in one of which we were 2-0 down at HT and came back to win, Robert Huth’s last minute winning thunder header in our title winning season, Robbie Savage getting Justin Edinburgh sent off in the League Cup final.

Can’t be many fixtures in English football which have had so many crazy games in recent years.

8 time winners Tottenham Hotspur have been overtaken by Kettering Town as the highest scorers in FA Cup history.

Nottingham Forest is the only team in the PL not to have a winger.

Technically Leicester do not have one either but everyone knows Barnes is a winger in all but name.

Albrighton has generally been a winger for most of his career too, even if he plays mainly as a wing-back nowadays.

I put this in the match thread but saw this on the bbc

    • This is the first top-flight fixture between Bournemouth and Brentford, although they have met in the other three English divisions - including 13 years ago in the fourth tier.
Has any other set of teams done this in the prem era?

There's been 454 goals scored in 164 league meetings between Manchester United and Manchester City...

The current goal difference is 0 with both teams having scored 227 goals each!

Recent years have helped us with some of the twattings weve given out

Pretty sure you've done that with us as well as it happens, but with the league 2 meeting having been about 20 years before the premier League meeting. Could be wrong though, my memory is pretty bad

'During the three consecutive seasons 1919–21, the historic boundaries (pre-1974) of the County of Lancashire had nine participants in the top-flight: Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers, Burnley, Everton, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Oldham Athletic, and Preston North End.'
During the season 1989–90, London had eight entrants in the top-flight: Arsenal, Charlton Athletic, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Millwall, Queens Park Rangers, Tottenham Hotspur, and Wimbledon.'

Liverpool vs Everton h2h is 123-86-83

Clubs which Liverpool have lost to more than won: Barrow, Braga, Brondby, Cardiff, Crvena Zvezda, Ferencvaros, Fiorentina, Gateshead, Genoa, Independiente, Juventus, Manchester United, Napoli, Lyon, Peterborough, Real Madrid, Sao Paulo, Sevilla, Valencia, Worcester
Of these, the only 2 clubs to play Liverpool more than 20 times in Man U... and Cardiff
I know Notts County and some other team (can't remember) did so for the first 5 tiers (saw it on the Notts County wiki page but can't find it)

I don't think Schmeichel never lost a derby. This includes his time at City. We always struggled when SWP was at his peak for you guys.
