Fair point on the loans actually.

I'm obviously looking at it from the half glass full angle that if we recruit well we can go into next season significantly stronger as a collective even after losing Emi Buendia. Of course replacing him directly with a player as good is probably unlikely as players as good as Emi Buendia demand £80k p/w apparently but I trust we'll get a good replacement, presumably with lots of potential.

Max Aarons will be easier to replace. I'd imagine we'll opt for somebody stronger defensively which will help us in the tougher league.

Delia's lost Millions throughout Lockdown hence selling Buendia & Aaron's is certain to go probably to Europe not sure why though probably untapped potential rather shown ability .

I hated doing this but have an exceptional post season record but did the Norwich @ Evens Posh @ 2/1 relegation double as neither have the financial clout of their League counterparts .

I don't think Delia's personal finances or even the club's 'Covid black hole' come into these sales at all if I'm perfectly honest with you. I think handshakes were done last year and they've gone or are going despite our promotion because the club don't want to destroy their wage structure for 1 or 2 players. Emi Buendia's wages went from £15k p/w to £35k p/w with promotion but all the way up to £80k p/w at Villa.

Had neither of these two players been sold our transfer budget this summer would have been arounf £30m. We've already taken in Emi's fee and I'd imagine we'll take around £30m for Aarons. Although I'm sure some will go to improving the training ground further that's a lot of money.

Basically this window is huge for us in the short and medium term. Spend wisely and we could be on our way to some solid time in the Premier League. Spend poorly and we're coming down with less than we had a year ago.

Rumours of Emiliano Marcondes being signed by Barnsley after his release from Brentford, I think he would suit you and am a bit disappointed that we let him go.

Yesterday we were leading the race for his signature - today we are not!
I suspect we are going have to get used to being in this position when it comes to anyone who is slightly good during this summer window.

Well at least you are all trying to sign players.....my guess is we aren't allowed due to a soft embargo from the EFL (much like Derby).

We are not trying very hard
Maybe we are under an embargo but hiding it by pretending to try and sign players

How has Ingram done for you? He was terrible for us but had a real confidence nose dive. He came with such high hopes as well.

Not so great when he first came, but after getting a proper run in the team last season he's been excellent, a top quality keeper and the reason why George Long has cleared off to Millwall.

Apparently Paunovic is back in the US taking a break, so that’s probably not going to help.

If we are under a soft embargo then we can probably expect more news when released players contracts officially expire this month which would then free up funds for new signings.

Our link of the day seems to be Ryan Longman from Brighton. I see he had a decent spell with Wimbledon last season and seems to have some positive reviews but I've not heard much else about him @BleedsIsDead

Certainly seems to fit the profile of the sort of player our fans are crying out for - basically the opposite of those over the hill players we signed last summer. Considering we're supposedly rebuilding again this summer, we've made a slow start to the window which could possibly be because of the CEO situation - I'd imagine if we get this bloke from Barnsley he will want to change our recruitment style quite significantly

Story regarding Thomas Henry to Swansea is picking up with reporters in France and Belgium... 5M fee in.

Can't see Swansea having that money unless they sell.

    20m the asking price apparently.
Hopefully we'll get a few clubs interested and see where the offers go.

As much as I'd like him here I'm not sure he'd fit our no **** policy.

A deal with Tom McIntyre is getting closer, I’m told a 3 year deal is on the table. Should it go through, #ReadingFC will have fended off interest from #WBA as well as others

    From some reading journo..
