Any article that casts Chelsea in a bad light is still automatically clickbait then?

Yeah I mean he literally says he deliberately made mistakes to wake the crowd up because it was too quiet. I don’t know how else you can interpret that.

Not directed at me, but I'll give my two penneth. Looking at the last two decades, you'd have to say some form of silverware every campaign would constitute the bare minimum required to be viewed as "doing well". Previously, a manager couldn't expect to go more than one season without winning a trophy and avoid the boot (and sometimes winning a trophy wasn't enough), and it looks like that could well apply to the new owners too looking at Tuchel.

In short, I don't agree Potter will do well. I doubt he'll be in the job in 18 months.

I'd just like to congratulate @stephen jenkins for the most subtle piece of name calling I think I've ever witnessed.

Yeah, a lot of unknowns but then a lot of how the new owners have acted has been similar to the past approach at the club. Tuchel was sacked pretty viciously and without much logic. The spending in the Summer was huge. It certainly feels like the new owners are trying to assert themselves in the game - much in the same way RA did in the early-to-mid 2000s.

So yeah, to see people say they expect Potter to "do well" is interesting to me, because as you say that surely requires challenging for major honours and winning trophies. If people genuinely think Graham Potter will turn this Chelsea into title challengers then fair enough, but surely the issue is time and if he doesn't achieve the short term objectives then he won't get the chance.

I may eat my words but I personally struggle to see Potter winning a trophy within 2 seasons and so unless the ownership/fans are willing to accept that then I cannot see him lasting.

Probably not worth its own thread, but Chelsea are apparently going to nick our head of recruitment now. They might as well just buy the entire club at this point

I hope Todd Boehly and Andy Naylor both have terrible lives full of misery.
