Contracts have been signed, the venue is decided well in advance, tough.
global pandemic, 2 teams from same country.....let's play it in another country.
It’s the global game now doc!
These things are decided well in advance, UEFA would presumably have to pay the Turks a fortune to get out of it. They could play it on the moon as far as I'm concerned, I'm not interested in either of the teams in the final. But they can't just "decide" to move it.
I bet they can.
They won't but they definitely can.
Tbf the Turks should ask for it to be given to an English side and they get the 2023 final by default.
They moved it last year in similar circumstances
Admittedly they decided a bit earlier but the 19/20 final was supposed to be in Istanbul and moved to Lisbon.
@zippy said they can't tbf
But the circumstances were rather different, this is a one off game.
Looks like it's getting moved to Wembley. Right move imo. To play it abroad under the current circumstances would've been stupid.
Basically the community shield now.
Might be Portugal as talks about Wembley haven't gone well.
Champions League final could be played in Portugal instead of Wembley | Sport | The Times
would be like playing a home game......we have had so many wins there.
Community Shield is harder to win though.
Looks like Portugal..... no way this government are going to let hundreds of Gasprom employees and UEFA hangers on in without quarantine for days. Especially for a football game.
Three thousand exemptions apparently. A reminder of what a shambles UEFA is.
