There will be goals. We won’t score them, but there will be goals.

To be fair I might be local to Aldershot but I'd be with the Southend supporters - assuming I could get my wheelchair in there (memories of a 3 sided cow shed type affair with concrete steps backing on to a bit of grass with portaloos and a shit burger van from my last trip there)

I certainly think KM will use the Gateshead result to add a bit of focus to the team, which hopefully will bring us the result we want to get back on track.

Oh dear, nothing has changed here. There’s a “discussion “ on Shotsweb at this moment regarding away the enclosure . I rather fear that a very large TEG visit this Saturday could overwhelm the crude facilities .
Maybe the threatened train strike may give us a reprieve ..:ashamed
As to the game, Shots are still managerless, relying on the expertise of our academy staff.
There have been some very strange formations and tactics, so it’s anyones guess.
Total lack of confidence or optimism, one or two early Southend goals will crumble any initial resistance. If they have decent wide players, we are sunk. Realistically, 1-3. Hopefully no worse. :surrender

it such a shame for the shots with the manager situation and recent formations and play have been very odd :(

A decent wide player is something we certainly do have in Jack Bridge.
I think Harry Cardwell will start this weekend in place of Chris Wreh

I actually didn't realise that Notts and Chesterfield weren't playing in the league, that's a bonus.

Not sure how PP will approach this one, he doesn't rotate as much as he should, and it will be two full weeks without league action so I don't think he will here, maybe starts for Davies (Lee), Dalby (Mullin) and Cleworth/Lennon (Hayden) plus both our 1st choice wing backs are apparently back so he may want to give them some minuets. Lainton is back and playing also so the GK situation is worth keeping an eye on.

With all if this we will have too much for Farnborough at home, but we won't make it easy......More of a Blythe than an Oldham.

Scunthorpe at home is an unusual experience because I think this is the first time we’re favourite to beat a member of the brotherhood (maybe Torquay earlier on this season).

3 games unbeaten, I don’t know if there are any fresh injury concerns following the win at York, but assuming not then the 11 picks itself again.

This is our one home game on during the World Cup so personally hoping for closer to a 2,000 crowd. @Bottega Don - I take it there won’t be many Scunny there with your away form and train strikes on?

We took just over a 100 to Dagenham last week but with the train strikes will probably be a little less.

Don’t think we’ve ever taken less than 100 for a Saturday game in my lifetime, this could be the one that threatens it

Wombles away then, and I think the most likely scenario is staying unchanged as Cook rarely likes to rotate when things are going well…

    Fitzsimons
    King Williams Grimes Clements
    Whelan Jones Oldaker
    Mandeville Quigley Dobra

Nothing to fear despite it being higher opposition as we’ve shown we can more than match L2 sides. Going nice and confident and predicting a 0-2 away win prior to another monster of a 3rd round draw similar to Chelsea (a) last season…

A real opportunity for us to reach the 3rd round although it won't be easy.
Looks like another sell out even though we are being televised again.
Expect a few changes tomorrow as we seem to have everyone fit so our first choice wingbacks Forde and Mendy back although we have had 5 clean sheets in 6 games so we are not too bad at the back.
Hopefully Elliot Lee plays as he just brings that extra class to the team
    2 nil to the Reds

New ground will drag a few more out. We were dire in our first season down here but still turned up at the new places in slightly better numbers

As for us, I think we have half a chance of a small upset. New ground for me too, just been a ballache with no trains to organised. ! hour 50 direct on the train from Chesterfield so would have been 1000+ with the trains running I reckon.

I'll got for an optimistic 2-1 win and hopefully Spurs or Newcastle away in the 3rd round :D

Lose this and that's your lot, regional football again next season without major changes.

Surely Johnson couldn't survive a home defeat to Gateshead?
