Can someone explain to me why West Brom's goal was ruled out? Was it Matt Phillips supposedly blocking Alisson's view?

Seems so - unlucky for WBA.

he was in Alisson's line of sight so was deemed to be interfering with play, lazy play from Phillips

    Big Sam not happy.

"It's hard to take after that obivously. We didn't want a result snatched away by us - not from aLiverpool - but by decisions taken today.

"They were decisions which caused us problems in both Liverpool goals. It should be a drop ball not a free-kick. That's a complete blunder as far as the rules go. That's number one.

"Then the goal we scored... VAR is meant to be there so that an onside player can score a goal. It's an outrageous, ridiculous decision when you've got VAR. They have gone against us on two occasions and it's the main reason why we haven't got three points today.

"A number of times against the top six we were difficult to break down. Hal Robson-Kanu could have had a hat-trick with the flick-ons in behind today.

"We had to take a bitter pill by losing in the last second of the game. It's a quality ball and it's just that split moment in somebody in our camp needing to say 'I'm going to mark him'. The bigger disappointment from me is on the two decisions. Outrageous is an understatement by the way."

Can't say he's wrong. Football can be a cnut at times.

OK, that might make sense in that case. But it's harsh. I wouldn't have been happy had it been us.

in all likely hood Phillips made no difference to the outcome but it was so lazy from him, he was getting back then stopped, get yourself onside and turn for a potential rebound

Agree on the Salah goal but the Bartley goal was rightly ruled going off the current rules whether we agree with them or not.

    I hate big Sam.

He should be a ref not a manager.

I can't stop watching that goal clip. Reminds me a bit of the Aguero commentary, albeit with a little less riding on it.

"If Olivier Giroud scores like that you say it's a worldie. It's a worldie!" - Jurgen Klopp.

    Love it.

Least we don't have to deal with him next season, whether he stays at West Brom or not.

Liverpool have been on the wrong end of way too many decisions this season, but today, I think they will all know they got away with one!

Salah goal came from a free kick, but for what? I know referees are now supposed to stop play when the ball hits them, but in this case, Fabinho was trying to get to a ball the other side of the ref. He bumped into the ref and didn't get to the ball before the WBA player. The ref blew and gave him a free kick. Is that right? Liverpool equalised from it

Disallowed WBA goal is one of those 50/50 ones! If the lino is definitely giving it for the player in front of the goalie, there's enough doubt that VAR won't overturn it. If it hadn't have been given by the lino, I don't think VAR would have disallowed it!

Winning goal... In injury time... Against a team managed by Big Sam... Edge of the 6 yard box... One of the biggest guys on the pitch... NO ONE picked him up! Big Sam will be spitting blood about that!

When Liverpool lift next season's champions league trophy, they'll look back at today and know they got a big slice of luck!

    IMHO

I'd be fuming if the Bartley one went against us, but I've seen an even more egregious one from Everton v Man Utd from a while back posted about.

After the way he brought the game into disrepute when he was the England manager he shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a football team.

He focuses on things that he cannot control i.e VAR. Instead he should be saying Phillips you should be getting onside in the first place and yeah the ball should have been a drop ball but there was enough time for his players to reset and deal with the situation. Wasn't as though we played a through ball straight from the free kick and scored with the second touch.

He is just deflecting rather than dealing with the problems his team put on themselves.

If someone is uncomfortable with their real real sexuality, covering it up by shouting about how real men aren't gay or don't cry is par for the course for many.
