@Shane : First I thought Alopecia is Portuguese and means something positive but then I googled it. You naughty boy

(after googling it I remembered the Will Smith Oscar action and that his wife has this illness)

Ronaldo's goal last night puts him level with Maradona, Voller, Rivaldo and Stabile on 8.

The 2 world cup wins with the lowest possession by the winning side are Japan's victory over Germany and...
South Korea's win over Germany last tournament

Hennessey is only the 3rd keeper to be sent off in the entire tournaments history.

The last one was in 1994 by Italian Gianluca Pagliuca.

The Pagliuca one was the one where Baggio got subbed right?

    Yes it was.

Back in the day it was cool a keeper being sent off as an outfield player would have to go in goal. Didn't have sub keepers like we do now.

Really? Shows again how useless this ball possession stat is. And how were the "xG" stats (another useless stat, imo) of both matches? Let's hope we weren't leading this one, too ;)

Rubs further salt in the wound. Anyway, I'll take it.

Mexico only the 3rd country to have conceded 100 goals in the tournament's history.

Germany lead the way on 127, followed by Brazil on 104.

Must be rubbish the leading two to have let in so many.

    :whistle

This is the first time Germany didn't win one of their first two group stage matches

    :D

btw: the actual list has us with 128 after the 1-1 with Spain and Brazil with 105 (idk why tbh, because Brazil won 2-0 against Serbia?):
FIFA World Cup records and statistics - Wikipedia

Brazil actually played 110 World Cup matches (Germany 111 since yesterday, hey that's what we call a "Schnapszahl" in Germany :D) .

That's less than one goal conceded in every match. But they conceded 7% alone in one game, in the 1-7 thrashing against us in the semi-final 2014.

Just wanted to write that we got it now after our draw with Spain yesterday and reached Italy and England with 21 Draws. But I totally forgot that the "Big Drawmaster" already got another one with the boring 0-0 against the USA. So England is the leader in the Draw category now. Drawing 22 of their (so far) 71 matches, more than 30% of their matches

If Canada avoid a 2-0 defeat or more in their last match, Qatar will be the worst performing team this world cup.
