Thank you for making this thread. Their is not enough people talking about the Bundesliga. I hope Bayern is going to lose ;)
    Sorry I like Dortmund!
And Bielefeld because I'm from their but that doesn't really have to do with the hatred.

    Scores added above.

Only seen the Bayern game up to now, we totally dominated the game and should have won it but credit to Bremen for good defending though the offside trap did start to get irritating, then again we should have dealt with it so no complaints there.
Ribery and Olic looked strong when they came on and Bayern look a lot better than this time last season so on the whole I'm satisfied.

Van Gaal has got the side going in the right direction and this will be a good season once they've settled.

Wow, I cannot believe this. Dortmund I'm disappointed. I leave to go to the United States and this happens. Maybe I'm like lucky or something?

Was watching Bayern-Bremen on a stream and the video went dead just maybe 5 seconds before Gomez scored.:rolleyes I could hear it though, then it was back fine several minutes later.

Oh well i hope i can get a good stream of Gladbach's game tomorrow and see Michael Bradley play.

    Thanks for this zippy .

When I used to watch the Bundesliga on satellite tv , it was probably the most entertaining league around , not the most technically proficient , but very exciting , lots of attacking footie and lots of goals .

Nominally I'm a Leverkusen fan , because my sister-in-law used to work for Bayer Pharmeceuticals , and I met a lot of very nice Leverkusen supporting Germans through her .

Not at all by the way, I just thought that as the thread was to be a sticky and be mainly a scores and info thread, it should be clearly marked as being about the 2009/2010 season.
    No offence was meant.

Wolfsburg came back strongly after going behind in the evening game to win 3-1 at Köln with Martins getting his first goal, Dzeko was also on target.
Several impressive crowds today as post 1 shows.

Yey, Wolfsburg won. :D Tbh, I just want them to prove a point and shut up the people who said they'd never have won the league if Bayern played decent last season.

As I have finally arrived home from Stuttgart, I can say that this game had a second half which was maybe one of the best I've ever attended.
A friend of us had two tickets left and he offered one to me, so I bought a train ticket and made the 250 miles from Bonn to Stuttgart.
The first half was quite good but with not so many chances. It was quite hot but Freiburg (maybe the Bundesliga team which is used to this conditions best) did well, but had only one chance to score with Bechmann.
In the second half, we saw them getting tired a bit more and Progrebniak scored the first goal of the season for Stuttgart.
Both teams should have got one clear penalty each, but one which shouldn't have been given was used for the 2-0 by a former reservist named Elson.
A beatiful goal by Mo got Freiburg back into the game just a few minutes before this one:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-S910IzOhKQ

Not so bad...Three goals in 4 Stuttgart years, all of them scored in derby games (The 3rd one against Karlsruhe last year).
We all thought this had been the decision, but it wasn't...Another Mo goal brought Freiburg back in the game again and they increased the pressure once more. In the last minute, Boka lost the ball just in front of the penalty area, but Lehmann saved it well when he came out of his goal. Our streight was finally used when we scored for the fourth time after a great attack from Celozzi (who made his first game ever for us), Progrebniak and Julian Schieber who scored for the first time as a professional football player.
I'm still waiting for a game where there isn't one of our players injured for more than 6 weeks after. Martin Lanig was it this time, he will have made his last game of the year yesterday.

All in all a very entertaining game. If we improve our defense, everyone who wants to win the league will have to beat us... :whistle

Franck Ribery tonight made a statement to the effect that four clubs, Madrid, Barcelona, Man Utd and Chelsea, had made serious bids for him but that he is staying at Bayern and it is best for everyone that the speculation ends now.

    Told you !

2 wins out of 2 for Schalke and Felix Magath, I dont know why but i have always liked Schalke, last season they had imo ON PAPER the second best squad in the league behind Bayern, they were just poorly coached by Fred Rotten and Engelaar and Farfan who imo were good signings at the time didnt settle. Saw Farfan on the Eurosport highlights yesterday, took his goal well, hopefully he can be a success in Germany because he was a top prospect when he was at PSV.

Schalke will never win the league. Leverkusen neither.

There are unwritten laws, and they will never be broken (though Magath is the most likely coach to do). Schalke have started well last year but then they couldn't keep going. Wins against Nürnberg and Bochum (even if they played well, I agree in this point) don't rise them up to champions. They'll have to play in Hoffenheim friday night, maybe we'll know more afterwards. I can't even see them playing in the Champions League.

Schalke have traditionally been the 'nearly' men of German football, such a long wait for a title and it goes on and on every year.
2000/01 was their best chance and they blew it then, they seem like a cursed club unfortunetly.
I have a feeling they will be in the Europa League posistions this season again but if Magath gets time like he did at Wolfsburg, it is perfectly possible that they could win the league in 2/3 seasons time.
As for Bayer Neverkusen, they were the finest example of chokers ever seen, fair enough losing to Real Madrid in the Champions League final but to then lose the DFB Pokal and Bundesliga when they should have won both was crazy.
