    Absolutely pathetic.

Proper fans going to a game to support their team.

    Shocking.

    Hope they get well soon.

Blades fans hurt in knife attacks
Two Sheffield United fans were stabbed before a friendly football game between the Blades and Sparta Rotterdam in the Netherlands, police have said.

Both men were treated for their wounds in hospital, but later discharged.

Supt Martin Hemmingway, of South Yorkshire Police, who is in Holland working with Dutch officers during the tour, said the pair were innocent.

He said they were ambushed by hooligans from Dutch team Feyenoord, who were spoiling for trouble with Blades fans.

"They were having a quiet drink and offered no provocation, but they were set upon and given a beating," Mr Hemmingway said.

BBC Radio Sheffield sports reporter Seth Bennett, who is in the Netherlands covering the tour, said the Feyenoord supporters were in the area hoping to stage a pre-arranged battle with Blades hooligans and were armed with knives, stakes and chains.

He said the final match of the tour will take place on Wednesday, but more trouble could not be ruled out before then.

Not sure what you mean by this? Are you saying that the Dutch are stuck in a time warp simply because they've got hooligans? Or that their hooligans are lower on the evolutionary hooligan scale because they don't have the same supposed 'code of honour' that English hooligans have that demands only like-minded holligans are attacked & that shirters are left out of it.

Because let's be right about this, this trouble has been pre-arranged, two coaches of BBC have gone over with the specific aim of having a bust-up with their Dutch counter-parts. Unfortunately what seems to have happenes is that because of this any Sheff Utd fan has been deemed as fair game by the Dutch hooligans.

hooligans ruin football supporters' reputations. They call themselves fans but are they really? hope the real fans get well soon.

Are hooligans fans? Well yes of course they are, it's just that they choose to express their support for their club differently to you.

well you can't expect much else from fans who run on the pitch and go and batter the ajax team in the middle of the pitch if i remember correctly robin van persie took a kicking as well says it all really.

hope all the the true blades fans out there did not get caught up in this crap hope they make a speedy recovery from what info i have seen from various people its lucky no 1 has been killed as for hooligans they have never been true fans they f*ck it up for the rest of us time after time.

as for the idiots who went out there looking for trouble they must be off there heads they don't play by the rules in these foreign countrys they are always tooled up its just pathetic to be honest.

I'll add to that, remember Feyenoord firm attacking Uniteds fan coach which was taking us back to the airport, absolutely nothing provoked them United are always well behaved in Europe, but for some reason they think they own everything.
