    Today, Pokemon released its final episode (in the main series).

    On April 1 1997, Pokemon anime began. It has ended with 1234 episodes today. The story of Satoshi Tajiri, or Ash Ketchum in the English dub, was unbelievable and captured the hearts of many people (including me)

    Probably the first anime to go mainstream in the Western world, paving the way for other anime/manga to do the same

    From my perspective only One Piece was better IMO, and maybe thats a stretch

    My kid inherited the first games from me. Pokemon red and blue and now has all generations of pokemon games and all consoles. (obsession :))

    he does watch the anime also.
