Anyone been to Sri Lanka?

    looking at going over for England's cricket tour next March, want to do both tests in Galle and Columbo if possible

    anyone been? looks nice enough

    No, I've not. D. M. Jayaratne has though.

    Probably interesting....but there has been some unrest.. Check out the Foreign and Commonwealth website for travel advice then buy the obligatory D&K book...

    Yes, I hated it. I have no idea if it was just the area we were, but. The people were grabby, always trying to rip you off, steal from you. When we were at an Elephant sanctuary, on of the people running it, offered to take our photo, then the bastard wanted money to give our camera back.
    OK, it wasn't all bad, but to me, that is not a holiday.

    ill also be going next march for the cricket tour, went Aussie over xmas and now dad cant get enough and wants to go sri lanka, should be great experience!
