Bit bored so I thought I’d have a go at putting together the best Blackburn/Burnley XI.

With both teams sitting on equal points and goal difference there’s not much to choose between the teams so It could be tricky for some people (some people will blindly pick whatever team they support :zzz )

Anyway this is what I’ve come up with playing our successful (at home) 4-1-4-1 formation.

    ------------------
    Robinson------------------

    Mears-----Nelson-----Samba-----Chimbonda

    ------------------Alexander------------------

    Eagles-------Dunn-----McCann------Emerton

    -------------------
    Fletcher------------------

That's 6 Blackburn players and 5 Burnley players in my team.

Just a few extra notes on some of the selections:

    * Robinson is far more consistent than The Beast, who seems to be having a bad game every game since derby day
    * Blackburn’s defence is all round far better than ours but Mears has been a class act all season and one of our bets players so he deserves a spot in my team
    * Grezza plays the holiding roll perfectly and there's no better penalty taker in the League
    * Dunn was first choice for my midfield, I know Blackburn have poor wingers and Eagles has been immense recently so he slots in nicely on the right, we don't really have a left winger as we play Robbie Blake there so Emerton on the left, and was deliberating between McCann and N'Zonzi but went for McCann as I’ve seen him rise through the academy at Burnley, he's still only in his early 20's and is one of our best players, will be a big star in the future.
*Fletcher 8 goals so far this season FAR more than any other forward from Blackburn and Burnley

Is it me or are we absolutely devoid of decent left sided players..

Suppose its 4-1-4-1, 4-1-2-3, 4-3-3, whatever way you look at it/play it.

    ----------Robinson----------
    Chimbonda Samba Givet Mears
    ------------N'Zonzi ---------
    ---Emerton ------- Dunn-----
    Eagles ---Fletcher --- Blake?

    Manager: Coyle
    Ground: Non-Wooden Park :thumb
Honorable Mentions: Alexander (experience vs youth with N'Zonzi) McCann, Nelsen

Think the thread just shows two teams that, as the table shows, are pretty even really.

Think most of the back 5 picks itself. My only really problem was which way round to have the full backs, seeing as I do believe they both prefer to be on the right. Having seen all Pascals games, I definately know he wants to be on the right, so went with it. By the way, Givet > Nelsen!

I like our sorta midfield threesome with N'Zonzi holding. Emerton is showing pre-injury form now, and Dunn just picks himself.

And then up top and out wide, most definately Burnleys time to shine. No idea who to take on the left wing, but leaning towards Blake. Eagles and Fletcher are just better than what we have.
