Burnley's second summer signing is Matt Gilks, who signs as a free agent after leaving Blackpool.

It might not look like much on paper but to have such an excellent second keeper will not only keep Tom Heaton on his toes, but we can also be confident of a solid replacement if Heaton gets injured of suspended.

Very happy with this signing. :D

Some of our fans saying he cant be that good if he played for Blackpool in the premiership because they went down. . So going by that logic Tom Heaton shouldn't of been that good because he played for Bristol City who also went down but from the championship and he was one of the best keepers in this league last season:laugh::confused

Oh dear.... Some fans need shooting. Anyone with any football knowledge will know Gilks is a quality keeper.

Gilks only played 18 games in that Prem season, picking up a knee injury away at West Ham that sidelined him from November until June. Had he not been injured we'd have stayed up because we put a clown in between the sticks who made numerous errors that cost us points.

Happy with the Gilks signing....always had him down as one of the better Championship keepers.

Maybe the guy offering the contract didn't like chatting on the phone! :)
