Any of you boys going tonight then?

For me Coyle should drop Robbie Blake who for me has looked knackered last couple of games and bring David Nugent in and Play big Kev and drop Bikey from midfield. Looking forward to the game even though i cant see us getting anything out of it other than a beating. Having said that you'd expect Coyle to have the players well up for the game think our closing down will need to be spot on if we're to stand any chance.

Could really do with a win tonight having gone six with one.

Would be very surprised if we dropped anyone, you should know by now Coyle will only make a change if you were injured. Read a stat somewhere that we have 8 players who have played every minute of every league game so far this season!

Not expecting much from tonight, in fact we’ll probably get hammered but I’m looking ahead to the Wolves game on Sunday.

So even when players are off form he plays the same side:cry: he should drop Blake and for me Bikey doesnt bring half the class to midfield as what McDonald has got. With some of the players he's sticking loyal to i'm starting to wonder about Coyles choices a little bit.

    Jensen 8
    Mears 8
    Carlisle 8
    Caldwell 8
    Jordan 9
    Alexander 8
    Elliott 7
    Bikey 7
    McDonald 8
    Eagles 8
    Fletcher 8

Jordan once again outstanding at the back, maybe that performance will get some of the boo boys off his back for awhile

Excellent performance, very unlucky not to have won. Would like to see the Fletcher 'goal' again as he looked a yard onside. I see Wegner whinging as per usual saying they should have won, it could have gone either way but we carved the better chances, hit the woodwork twice, and should have had another pen when they handled in the box..

Fletcher was level it showed it on the replay on motd last night. After the 1st 10 to 15mins where Arsenal kept cutting through us i was really impressed with Burnley. Shame we cant play half aswell as that away from home though instead of just folding like a pack of cards all the time.

Yes i have to say Jordan was superb at the back, think thats the best i've seen him to be honest. Kevin McDonald was behind a lot of the good stuff going forward picked out some quality passes to Eagles who against was very good and Fletcher who leads the line well. Cant really fault any of our players last night to be fair because they all did a solid job and had that Fletcher goal not been ruled out i agree with Coyle reckon we'd have hung on for the win.

Eagles was unlucky with his shot that hit the post too. Kevin McDonald was my motm, maybe ive got my rosed tinted glasses on with that lad because ive believed for months he should be starting but i didnt think he put a foot wrong. Good on the ball, got forward at every chance and gets stuck in, broke play up countless times and always seemed to get time on the ball. Think that lad will be better than McCann myself, just think his all round game will be better.

I just pray now we get something from the Wolves game.

Arsenal as you'd expect passed the ball well but our closing down was awesome, like the Utd game at home i thought. If anything they looked a little lightweight up front. Think their skipper going off didnt help either. Whatever we round you look at it we've played another top side at home and matched them and the players give everything they had, cant ask anymore than that.

Not often I lay plaudits and praise on the Clarets. But credit where it's due against arguably the best passing side in the league. On another day we would have had the rub of the green. Could have been 5-2 to the Clarets. Fletcher was definitely onside, was definitely a handball by Silvestre and with a tad more luck and a lick of paint less. Think Jensen made a half decent save, wasn't special but did enough to keep it out. They really only had the other real chance when they hit the post.
If we keep up that level of performance at Wolves, we should win comfortably.....

I can't believe I just said all that! :eeek

Arsenal had a lot of chances in the first 15mins though. Saying it could have been 5-2 to us is going a little OTT but thats typical of you.:duke

we had two shots on target five off.

they had 7 on and 9 off

Think having two proper wingers made a big difference instead of Blake on the left. Very pleased with Eagles on the left and Elliott on the right. Big Kev is a million times better in centre midfield than Wade Elliott.

Blake was very poor again when he came on and he's playing for his contract this season.

Blake has started a lot more games already than i expected him to, thought he'd be used a lot more from the bench this season. Think he give every pass he made to an Arsenal player and when he loses the ball watching him try running after the player on the ball is laughable. Nowhere near enough pace to keep up to the premiership pace..

Typical but accurate. We hit the woodwork twice, scored one, had a perfectly good goal disallowed and should have had a penalty. But for an inch or two and an official with good eyesight we would have scored five. Those stats don't lie. They hit the woodwork once, didn't have a goal disallowed and didn't have a legitimate penalty claim. So I don't see how your argument weighs up to mine. :confused
In more simplistic terms for you and your fellow Clarets fans who like it simple, just like your opinions. We scored a perfectly good 'disallowed' goal and should have had a penalty. So lets take away the three woodwork efforts and we should have won it 3-1! :therethere

you dont need to go through it step by step pal i was there watching the game with my own eyeballs. 5-2 when we had two shots on target is going oveboard like i said. regardless of the goal that didnt stand. As i say Arsenal could have scored quite a few times themselves.

not getting into a pointless debate about the scoreline we played well get a point could have done with 3 got close to getting them, didnt, happy to settle for a point.

Good article interviewing Clarke Carlisle here, talks about the season so far incl the Arsenal game. Didn't realise there were 7 players who have played every game this season. I guesss that consistency is the key to your success this season

Or you could look at it that Coyle has stayed TOO loyal to some of them players because he's been given very little option. Plenty have been given the chance and are nowhere near good enough for this league and the way Coyle is talking in an interview i read on sky sports this morning dont think he's going to change it much in Jan..
