Cant wait for this one,if we win we become the first promoted side to win our first 4 home games leaving our joint record of 3 with Blackburn behind.

I see our games against fellow promoted sides as must wins, especialy at the turf.
Also it would be nice to get a confidence booster before we face Rovers.

    im going 2-1 Clarets win

Shows how far we have come when games against Birmingham are must win games!!! I'd have usually been happy getting a point against these (and Sunderland). Would be just like Burnley to lose on Saturday, although under Coyle it doesn't seem to happen as much (except Barnsley and Sheff Wed last season). 2-0 Burnley Nugent and Stevie Fletcher with his 1st league goal (should be 2nd though after the Spurs game)

Still remember our game at Turf Moor with them last season, we battered them all game and missed chance after chance and we only came away with a 1-1 draw - damn you Cameron Jerome. :angryfire:(

Would love 3 points from this game, but really wouldn't mind if we got a draw, every point is valuable in the race for survival. Also our next 3 games after Brum are Rovers (a), Wigan (h) and Hull (h) so we have plenty of decent opportunities to pick up some more points.

    ----------------------- Jensen -----------------------

    Mears ------ Caldwell ------ Carlisle ----- Jordan

    ---------------------- Alexander ----------------------

    Blake/Eagles ----- Elliott ----- Gudjonsson ----- Fletcher

    ----------------------- Nugent -----------------------

^Would be my team, would like to include Eagles as he's been one of our best players off the bench recently and offers something different than Blake, but it's hard to drop Robbie.

Brum haven't even sold half their allocation, they have such a shocking support to say they are the second biggest city in England.

from whats been said in the Brum sub forum it looked as tho they would be in demand for tickets,
where av u heard they might not sell them all,as it would be a bit disapointing to see empty seats come saturday.

Im not happy with this tactic of Coyles playing strikers in midfield as wingers and ive been saying the same thing all season. Alexander in the holding role is pointless in the premiership too. Would like to see him go 4-4-2 tomorrow. Playing Both Nugent and Fletcher right down the middle rather than sticking one of the wing where its plain as day it doesnt really produce the best out of either of them and Nugent hates it there aswell and said as much. Wasn't happy to be playing there while he was with Portsmouth so he wont be with us.

If people want to keep saying Alexander in the holding role is working fair play to you but i dont think it is at all. Gets overrun far too easy. If picking the ball up off the defence the odd time is doing the job then im in the wrong. I thought he was supposed to be in there to offer protection to the defence and simple fact is he doesnt do that.

Seems to work at home, doesnt away. Tend to agree would prefer 4-4-2 now with Fletcher and Nugent upfront together as target men supported by Eagles and Blake with Elliott and Gudjonsson in the middle. Joey can do the holding midfield role if we need to change tactics or we can bring on Grezza from the bench. Not sure what we would do if we got a penalty though?

Away from home i wouldnt mind seeing us go something like Birmingham with a 4-5-1 but with midfielders in midfield instead of strikers all the time. We'll still lose plenty of games but we've got to stop getting hammered all the time on the road. End of the season if it comes to goal difference we'll be well bolloxed at this rate.

Good result, suprised by Coyles decision to put grezza and Bikey together in midfield, bikey made a few mistakes first half but redeamed himself in the second.

first half was poor to watch ,but Coyle got them going in the second half,in which i felt we dominated with Brum offering little,i can see why there fans are complaining about only having the one upfront in O'Conner.

I thought both sides looked as clueless as each other in the first half. Nothing against the league one sides but both looked about that sort of quality to me couldnt put two passes together if their lives depended on it. Bikey who did alright second half seemed to struggle with his new role first half and kept giving the ball away when far better options were on.

We passed it about far better second though good break out of defence by Mears to set up Fletcher, weak goalkeeping that to let the ball through whether it took a bounce before getting near him or not. Fletcher was unlucky with that one what hit the post.

Bikey winning the ball going past a couple of players then doing a one two with Nugent was brilliant for the bigman and finished it off cool as you like:laugh:

I expected Birmingham to sell a lot more tickets than they did do but looking at the side yesterday its understandable why so many ducked out the football was dreadful seemed to be all about sitting back and trying to get away with a point, against a side like us they should have gone for it because i reckon both will be down the bottom end most of the season. Think i only heard them sing a couple of times but i would have been as depressed as most of them looked playing that sort of football.

You always seem to say exactly what I am thinking.

Bikey was class yesterday, maybe we should play the big guy up front? (joke).

But seriously, awesome finish from a defender.

Its becoming more and more clear we need to start picking up points away, soon teams will adapt to Turf and begin to find out how to win.

We can't keep relying on our home performances.

Even though Blackburn got hammered yesterday i watched the game and thought they played well and created some very good chances and should have been given a pen. If they play that well against us i think we'll be in trouble:( Coyle needs to have a rethink on his tactics away from home. I would drop Robbie Blake for sure and play Fletcher down the middle instead of wasting him on the wing. Fletcher impressed me Saturday whenever he moved inside and should have had another goal really.

4-4-2 0r 4-5-1 for me away from home if you go about it right you can still make chances and im 100% sure we'll be more solid.

Population of Burnley: 70,000 Current average gate 20,000 % about 30% of town goes to Turf Moor

Population of Birmingham: 1,000,000 Current average gate 30,000 % about 9.5% of city goes to St Andrews.

Don't think it's the Clarets who need to catch up

Sums it up-By the way current Premier League Fair Play League, Burnley 2nd, Brum 13th and Fans Fair Play League, Burnley Top and Brum 13th

No offense mate but the second biggest city in England, a 2 hour trip away from Burnley, not even selling half their 2800 allocation is pretty bad.
