Massive, massive game against West Ham at Turf Moor this Saturday.

Sounds like only players out injured will be Caldwell (groin) and Alexander (calf) so let's go for this line-up

Jensen, Mears, Cort, Carlisle, Fox, Bikey, Eagles, Cork, McCann, Elliott, Fletcher

Subs: Weaver, Edgar or Duff, McDonald, Guerrero, Blake, Nimani, Nugent or Paterson

Change to 4-4-2 if it aint working Nugent with Fletcher up front and drop young Cork

Drop Elliott for me and stick David Nugent upfront with Fletcher.Coming face to face with one of our relegation rivals as things stand i reckon we're better off with TWO strikers at home to start off with.

Chage to 4-2-2 if it isnt working and drop Cork:confused whats to say he wont be our best player at the weekend. Drop whoevers playing shite at the time more like:laugh:

All things being equal it will have to be a midfielder to drop unless Bikey drops back and Cork is the most likely to be replaced since he is the one with the least Prem experience, assuming of course he even makes the starting eleven. The biggest threat from West Ham is likely to come from their new strikers so I think it would be better to have more in defence/midfield and try and get one or two goals on the break. Fletcher supported by Eagles & Elliott should be enough to break down West Ham but if not we always have Plan B and twin-striker option

So your expcting us to sit back and let Westham come to us and we "on the break" nah not for me we should be trying to attack them as much as possible. They've only won ONE game away from home drawn quite a few aswell but theaway form is far from impressive for me. Each to ther own but id rather see us play 4-4-2 at home against a side down the bottom end. If it was a Chelsea or Man Utd then i'd be in full agreement with you.

Another thing because of the way Coyle set us up i dont think we've the sort of players who can play a bit of a waiting game and hit sides on the break. Laws isnt going to change that mentality over night either.

Whatever the tactics i just hope and pray we come out of the game with 3 points and not bothered how the goal or goals come about. Could be a Robert Green OG for me

It's not a matter of expecting, its what they will probably do! Attack, thats what West Ham are all about and you only have to witness their signings in Jan window. That doesn't mean to say we are not attacking ourselves just better capable of stopping them and then having more options to build up an attack ourselves. Laws I hope will keep up the entertaining passing game that Coyle introduced but will not be as naive in defence

Massive 3 points for us that. Hopefully a start of things to come in the next five home games too. Thought we got luky today. Westham had a goal ruled out hit the post twice and Leon Cort made a superb goalline clearance from the ex Blackburn striker when he thought all he needed to do was roll the ball into an empty net. I was just looking at him expecting him to do just that and Cort seemed to pop up from nowhere:clap:

Upson was a bit weak to let the ball go over him from the longball off Fox, tidy finish by Nugent though. Brilliant hit from Fox on his freekick goal though.

Fair play to the Westham fans who travelled up to the game made plenty of noise and for me best away fans this season at ours

    Great win for Burnley :thumb:clap:

Burnley would probably be described as a an unfashionable little northern team by the London Press so it makes it more enjoyable beating a Laarndon team.

Keep up the good work, hope you get a few more points to keep you safe

Well done Burnley and Brian Laws.

Fantastic goal by Fox, and a brilliant stop on the line by Cort.

Fantastic 3 points today, just what we needed. I’ve seen us play a lot better this season and come away with 0 points so to do the opposite is very much welcome. Agreed with Gatti about the West Ham fans, you sold out and made good noise, up there with Villa as best fans seen at the Turf this season.

Dare I say it but our defense is looking a lot more solid now, Cort is an absolute beast and what a goal line clearance he made to deny the ex-bastard, and Fox looks great to, scored 1 set up the other. Bikey was my MOM again, Grezza has a job on his hands trying to get that midfield spot back off him.

Apart from the goal Fox scored i wasnt over impressed with his defending tbh. Thought Carlton Cole beat he far tooeasy a couple of times. Tends to happen though when you back away from a player rather than sticking a tackle in

    They are? :confused

They are also a good, old fashioned club with decent fans unlike some of these plastic, Mickey Mouse shit tips with tin-pot support bases. I hope they stay up although not at the expense of us.

I thought you played a lot better - certainly football wise - at our gaffe and you were 5-0 down there at one stage! I said to Gatti on another forum that we frequent that I thought we were a little quiet so am surprised about the positive comments regarding our fans.

I'm not so sure about your defence looking solid though. On another day we would have had at least 4 goals and were undone by poor finishing, officiating and the woodwork. I do agree with you on Bikey as the man of the match, he did exactly what our midfield should of been doing instead of fannying about like headless chickens. I must say that he was lucky not to be cautioned for persistent and quite cynical fouling which tended to disrupt our flow but aside from that he had a good game, winning the ball and spreading it nicely using both sides of the pitch.

I thought we were pony for most of the game but still should not have lost. I am getting fed up of saying as much. We really need to buck our ideas up. Despite the result, it was a good day with a thumbs up to the Bridge House pub and it's staff.
