Is anyone going to be getting the latest version? The PS exclusive beta starts on Friday, for those who have pre ordered.
I played literally one game last night and it seemed pretty good, but obviously it is a pretty low sample I'd pre ordered so I could spend Friday night playing it, but I ended up going for a few beers with a mate instead, so I will have another attempt this weekend.
I played the Beta last night on Xbox. Movement, TTK, gunplay etc is very similar to MW (as you'd expect with them sharing the same engine) so overall it's enjoyable to play (at least for me - MW is in my opinion the best CoD we've seen for many years and I continue to play it now in preference to Cold War). However, there is a lot of work to do before the full release. There are loads of random graphical glitches and artefacts on the Xbox version, visibility is awful, graphically it's less sharp than MW by far and the audio is appalling. I mean, truly dreadful - devoid of all atmosphere with muted weapon sounds, little to no ambient noise and even your own operator shouting sounds like they're 50 yards away. I'm hopeful that the core gameplay means there is a solid release under it's faults, but the problems are glaring and need to be addressed.
Yeah the sound is awful, can’t hear footsteps whatsoever. However, the hotel map where you can run around on the rooftop is cool.
Did anyone else pick this up in the end? I did, and I have to say the improvement since Beta is remarkable. It’s probably one of the best CoD launches in a while tbf.
Yeah I did. I think it’s a quality game. The feel is just like MW and there are a really good selection of maps. My only gripe is the audio. It’s really poor IMO. Everything sounds so far away and the guns sound like pea shooters. The guns take a while to level as well. Tbh though I’m only really playing it to level up a few guns ready for the warzone integration. Warzone is completely ****ed atm though so it’s a good time to take a little break.
The sound still needs some tweaking I think, but it's much better than it was in the Beta. I'm more of a Multiplayer kind of guy than Warzone so I'm more looking forward to the CDL playlists being released tbh, but really enjoying what we've got so far. I'm loving the maps as well - there's some good variety in there. Except Sub Pens - that map is horrid and I have no idea how that got through when the rest are all so good.
Lol. The other lads hate sub pens as well but I really like it. Tuscan is absolutely dreadful IMO though. The rest are decent.
Interesting - I quite like Tuscan Sub Pens I just feel is basically a single lane unstructured map with a couple of weird side rooms and no natural flow.
Numa Numa I tend to do really well on. Same with Eagle’s Nest and Hotel Royal. Plenty of other decent maps on top of that… already played 67 games of Domination lol.
Went back on warzone last night with Adz from here. It still hasn’t been fixed properly but we got a win and for me, the feeling of winning in that far outweighs anything you get from multiplayer.
So far I am really enjoying multiplayer. The maps seem good for the most part and I like the feel of the game. I have only had one game on zombies and not started the campaign yet but I will play through that as well at some point.
Want to give COD a go as looking for something to satisfy my Metal Gear Solid cravings. Is it decent off line?
I have never won a game on Warzone. When the update comes out I will have a few more goes on it as I like the idea of the game mode, but I seem to struggle with it. The only time I have come close is when I have just hid and tried to pick the odd person off who haven't seen me.
It's a tough place to win, especially in solos but the feeling of your heart pumping when you know there's only a couple left is something I haven't had in any other game.
