Rangers look decent at Ibrox where they could beat anybody on their day, even Man U but are they consistant enough to do well in europe. I think that if they invest more quality they have a real chance.

I doubt we could ever attract the real quality to the SPL, which is too much of a hindrance for bringing in top class players.
However, we're definitely big enough if Atlantic league or Euro Super league type thing materialises in the next few years.

Rangers have done better in Europe this season so it's quite possible however unlikely.Have they really got players like those at Man Utd and Real?

I have no doubt that we could win the UEFA Cup with our present set-up.
But as for the Champions League...we'd need to get away from Scottish league, join this European League thing if its going to happen - that would give us the financial clout and the glamour (more glamour than the SPL anyway!) required to bring better players to the club and then, who knows?

    That's the problem all right.
Rangers have got the money to buy and pay wages for just about top class players, but what superstar is going to leave Barca ( .. er .. De Boer ?) or Milan for the joys of playing in sunny Scotland ?
The laugh is that Rangers have had the midfielders over the last few years, but Celtic have had the strikers. Rangers need at least two absolute top-notch goal-scorers so that they can kill Euro games off.
I hate to say it, but I think the Old Firm will eventually join the English Premiership -- that's where the real money is.

To answer original the question ... YES.
Within the next two years we're going to see the Rangers squad totally overhauled (bye to Numan, Gio VB, etc).
IF Rangers get access to an Atlantic/quasi- European tournament, or if they get into the jackpot of the English Premiership, we'll see some of the biggest and best players in the world turning out for us (and for Celtic I suppose).
So ... big team, big money, big prospects, big games ... big time ! Ten years is a long time in football. Why, I remember (etc, etc) ...

I thought that Van Bronkhorst was your best player. Him and Numan are both internationals for the dutch so why will they have to go.

I would say our best players are Numan, Moore, Gio Van B, Ferguson, Mols and Flo.
out of the lot of them Id say Gio would be our most saleable asset, if you know what I mean - he'd be most in demand if we suddenly transfer-listed them all.
The problem is, Gios contract is up in summer 2002, and hes never hidden the fact that he wants to play in a better league. I think he's certain to move on this summer (so that we can get a fee), which is a great shame because hes the best midfielder in Scotland and one of the best in Britain. Hes a terrific player.
