Bought a new battery today thinking that was the problem but it appears my fob is f*cked. Not impressed.

Any idea how much these things cost to either repair or get new? Can I walk into any dealership or do I need to go to one specific to my car? (Ford)

Assuming it's like a Vauxhall one with the remote door locking button on the ignition key they're quite expensive, about £70. I think you need to take the car VIN number in order to get one too, and possibly proof of ownership.

With some cars the central locking sometimes seems to lose sync and needs re-programming. Have a hunt around for some info on that.

I'm sure the fob for my VW was over £100
