They were obviously devoted to each and their long marriage is a great a achievement in the modern world. Us United fans owe her a debt of honour for convincing him to carry on in 2002. She single handily won the club more trophies than all of her husband's successors put to together. RIP.
I feel gutted, that lady was the one who made SAF stay at OT when he was going to retire in 2002, R.I.P. Lady Cathy Ferguson.
I know. I was waiting for it and was like why are they getting ready to play? Then they did the knee. Pretty disgusting.
Of all the loads of causes United have held a minute's silence for I couldn't believe there was none today, absolutely disgusting decision.
I think with all the years that Sir Alex was with United, they would show solidarity with a legend and his loss.
SAF liked personal things dealt with behind closed doors and maybe that was the case here, you never know, I would also gather that all of the people who worked with SAF over the years have dealt with respect for Cathy behind closed doors towards SAF in face and private as with the funeral when it happens which might be what he wants.
57 years is a hell of a long time to be in a relationship ,sharing so many years together and knowing everything there is to know about each other would leave you distraught to lose someone that dear to you. As a Kopite I had little time for him as a manager save a grudging respect for the phenomenal success he achieved whilst at United ,but my heart goes out to him experiencing such a loss.
Maybe you're right, I thought with all the years that he has spent at United, it might have given the fans a chance to show their respects and solidarity. Anyway, I'm not here to begrudge anyone or take away from anything. My heart goes out to him, it's a massive loss after all them years together.
Not really worth kicking off about, but myself and everyone around me were asking why there hadn't been a minute's silence. Alan Keegan did say a few words before kick off and explained the black armbands, but nevertheless it was a poor decision by whoever made the call at United.
