Great draw, literally the easiest we could have got when our number came up. Hopefully we can top the group & rest some players in the last few games. Spartak will be a test though & Sevilla are well capable of finishing above us so it's not a foregone conclusion.
Good draw in terms of progression. Not particularly exciting though bar the chance to payback Sevilla.
Exactly how I felt about our draw last year, the positives far outweigh the only negative, which is a lack of excuses if you fail to qualify. I think you'll have loads of big games to look forward to in the knockout rounds.
What scares me about the draw is how we like to not be good against teams that we should crush. That said we should win all three at Anfield. Which will make it likely we go through. Im so excited!!!
Sevilla have changed a fair bit since the Europa League final. Gameiro and Coke who did us in the final are both gone and the goals of Gameiro haven't been replaced. I think we're a lot better since then. I expect 7 to 9 points at home and should aim for 12pts total at least which I don't think that's asking a great deal in this group.
That was a bit meh, I expect us to get out of that group, real shame we didn't get Barca, really wanted those shithouses down here. Still possible somewhere down the line I suppose.
Yeah i'd rather get Barcelona in the knockout stages and knock the mugs out. Than just beat them in a group and have them still progress. That'd be the ultimate revenge. Happy with that group though. Highly confident of progressing.
I was a little underwhelmed by the draw as it would have been nice to get some big European games in the Champions League again. Though, it's a very good chance to progress through to the knock out stages. In fact I think the only real teams Liverpool have to fear are Real Madrid, Bayern, Juventus and Atletico Madrid, and these teams are likely to finish first in their groups. So if we manage to top the group I think we should be able to make it to the QF's, which would be a really good showing and wipe out the memories of the disastrous campaign when Rodger's was managing us.
It's apparently the weakest group according to the football index, would've preferred one big name in there but you can only beat what's in front of you.
Seeing Moreno start v Sevilla will bring back some... memories that I've tried my very very best to erase, but otherwise I think we should definitely be looking to win the group & win it well.
I'm no fan of the Champions League & this draw confirms it. We should get out of this group, 3 wins at home & a draw or 2 away should be enough, but I fear that these Champions League games will take priority over League & Cup games
Im hoping to win our first three and clinch no less than 2nd and then be able to **** around with the last three while padding our points in the league. Domestic Cups should be academy, reserves, and bench players. Save everyone important for league and CL games.
