Return of the cave for Cheltenham festival.

Have any of you placed anything yet? @bendyspire is usually the man for Cheltenham, think I’ve followed his tips every year since 2018 and the only year I’ve ever ended up down was a couple of years ago when I’d had one too many on the Friday at the festival and started doing some daft stakes.

@Villa Rocker likes a punt too but haven’t seen him on here for a while.

I got on the Honeysuckle, Allaho and Shishkin “banker treble” the other week at close to 4/1. I don’t know a great deal about jumps racing though so not sure how safe that is, think one is running against Chacun which cost me £800 by not winning last year so no doubt it’ll **** my treble this year.

You'll find @Villa Rocker on Punters Lounge as Villa Chris .

I've done a few ante post bets with my £5 Free Bets from Sky

    Jonbon 5/1
    Minella Indo 11/2
    Stage Star 8/1 ( 2.50 eway )
Buzz 8/1 injured so November punt was worthless
    Langer Dan 12/1 ( 2.50 eway ( 5 places )
And my best bet made on Halloween , American Mike 12/1 ( £2.50 eway )

I've got £35 in free bets from next Monday & will do an each way Lucky 15 most days in the handicap races using bet365 as my chosen bookie .

Good luck to all having a punt & or watching , if you've never been before it's a great occasion especially first race on Tuesday ( which will be a restart ) bit like first football match you ever go to hairs on back of your neck will stand up .

Legend mate I’ve signed up, I’m on Langer Dan but I only got 6/1 so you’ve done very well there.

I’ve been a few times but going again GC day, always a blinding day out.

I missed 20's on Langer Dan , got 12's with " free bet " but was 14's elsewhere , that was 3 weeks ago .

Last GC I went to was Don Cossack win in the Best Mate , it was f*cking freezing & the train back to New Street had broken down & there's 1 way in & 1 way out at Cheltenham Spa Station but was all good humoured .

Much rather watch from the sofa these day , get to see more , my next race day will be Craven meeting at Newmarket mid April .

I'll be having a go for sure, it's Cheltenham isn't it, but I'm really out of the loop this year, I've not had much chance to follow what's been going on with the jumps. I haven't got any antepost on at all, which is unheard of. The only plan I have so far is the same one I have every year 'back Jamie Codd blind'. I think the only rides he's had confirmed so far are Braeside in the National Hunt and Smoking Gun in the Kim Muir, which I'll definitely be backing on the day. Otherwise I'll just be trying to have a look the night before/morning of the races and seeing what jumps out!

O'Leary was on At The Races Racing Debate Live two Sundays ago & was livid with the BHA for the rating that Tiger Roll had been given for this year's Grand National which was akin to a Grade 1 horse of around 170 but when Tiger Roll has ran in Grade 1 & 2's he's been tailed off & O'Leary reckons 155 is his true rating , he also reckoned Tiger Roll would win the Cross Country IF the going was good , personally , I'll be looking at an unfancied French horse each way at double figure IF they're any that fit the bill.

Tuesdays declarations should be out on Friday ( I think ) , all about the weather after that !

Just placed these two as singles, the excitement for Cheltenham is like no other nowadays for me, it’s like what I used to be like in the week leading up to the football season as a kid.

Minella Indo for the GC you reckon mate? I’ll have a go.

How do boys . Can’t wait for next week it’s like Xmas . I was going Thursday/Friday but had to cancel and sell tickets because of a few probs at home . Will get involved in chat once on way to the graft

One of the most likely winners J . People forget he’s a proper Cheltenham/spring horse . His form isn’t all that elsewhere. I backed him when he drifted out to 9/1 after The King George . Galvin will be main threat.

    Sir Gerard
    Kilcruit
    Jonbon

    for the supreme .

Tiger will take all the stopping over there. Elliott's been purring over him too. I think he wins by a street before being retired after the race

Cursory glances, I quite like Tornado Flyer for the GC. 12/1 is a juicy price for a horse in the form of his life, jumps really well, likes Cheltenham and will appreciate the longer distance. This is hardly the strongest of Cups in memory either. Wouldn't like any of the market principles at the prices tbh, not in a gold cup

Hedging your bets eh, like it! I've just taken a look at the Supreme, christ, pick the bones out of that one. The only thing I can say at this stage is that I don't fancy a Labaik style big price this time. Constitution Hill could be absolutely anything but he's not had to fight for anything yet has he. What happens when he's got a top Irish battler breathing down his neck up the hill. At the moment I'd be leaning to one of the Mullins runners, which though is another question.

I'm getting excited now actually casting an eye on these races, like a kid at Christmas again, what a week

Shame that Rock as I’m going on the Friday so could’ve met for a few.

Got the day off today so just having a look through and placing, I’ll have a go on Tiger Roll then.

Early Nap of the festival has to be Tiger Roll.

Not really looked at most races, never do until the week/day as you never know whose running or not.

I’ve got Kilcruit at 16s . That’s my only bet in race so far . Those 3 I mentioned are one of the winners imo . I don’t think Constitution Hill has beat anything as you say and although he looks impressive I just think he’ll get found out . Jonbon is better I think . Sir Gerard is the real deal just needs to improve him jumping from last time out.

The Arkle is a bit of an head scratcher. Gavin Cromwell has supplemented Gabynako for this race which we should take note because he’s said he thinks it’s the horses best chance out of the novice chase races at the festival . Currently 16/1 .

He was beautifully laid out for the race last year . He should win but Easyland could run him close this year.

    I can't back a 12 year old at 7/4 , no value .

If both run , I'll back DIESEL D'ALLIER as the French do well in this race & CD winner BACK ON THE LASH if both are double figure odds & each way .
