Out for at least 3 months after suffering damaged his medial ligament in the win over Sunderland at the weekend:( We'll miss him for me one of the most important players in the side. So that will mean either Kevin McDonald who i'd love to see given a chance or Joey Gudjonsson taking his place. Seems to keep overlooking McDonald for one reason or another so i would imagine its going to be Joey starting at the weekend away to Spurs.

Ye such a shame that he’s out he’s a one of our bets players, but on the other hand center midfield is one of the positions we were have more than capable replacements in Joey G and Big Kev.

A lot of people, including myself would like Big Kev to step up but I think it’s obvious in the way Coyle does his substitutions that Joey G will be starting, I don’t have any problems with that tho as he’s been a fantastic for us over the last few years, he looked really impressive v Sunderland to at the weekend so he deserves his shot.

Worried about his loss, massive player for us. Much as I like Joey, he isn't in the same league as Chris. Would like to see big Kev given more of a run now.

This could be a real problem as i dont think Joey is good enuogh to replace him ,i think OC will put MacDonald in there for a more phisical pressence, but still he dosnt match up to Macann.

an it now looks like an all ready tiring Alexander will have to take some more of the work load as i cant see any of the replacments offering the same energy to the side MaCann does.

if it was me i would move Elliott into the middle an put Eagles out wide.

anyway im no manager so it will be intersting to see what Coyle does.

Elliott has been playing in the middle all season and half of last season, Blake/Patto/Fletcher have been playing on the wings this season.

Yeah and to be honest I have thought Pato and Fletch have been totally wasted out wide! We need them playing together up front or one of them with Nugent. Pato always looks more effective to me when hes up front with a taller striker like Thommo,Fletch and maybe Nugent. We also have a better target man to aim for when we have a taller striker up there. Pato alone up front dont seem to work either

My appolagies, what i should of said is where as now he tends to drift out wide somtimes because of the freedom Alexander and MaCann give him as they are allways in the middle . now with MaCann out i think he should stick souly in attack mid centre in a 442 diamond with two forwards rather than the 433 we currently play.

Sounds like you've got more injury problems tonight...typical bad luck for a promoted side!

Beast injured, praying to god he’s fit to play against Spurs on Saturday or else we’ll end up with a cricket score with Penny in goals, heard tho that Beast has just picked up a dead leg so it can’t be that serious if true!

Patto injured is a blow but with Nugent bursting onto the scene I’m pretty sure he would he been starting on the bench on Saturday anyway, and if he was starting it would have only been on the wing anyway, think Eagles will get his chance now he’s looked impressive in his last few games and has scored tonight.

Bloody terrible luck. I hope to god the injuries aren't too bad or I fear it will impact our season now what with Chris already out long term.

Said the exact same thing to my mate last night once the Beast went off. Penny doesnt impress me one little bit i think we could have done to look for another keeper before the season kicked off and either sold him or sent him out on loan.

You ought to have seen our injuries.

    So far we've had out.

    Berra
    Craddock
    Kightly
    Ebanks-Blake
    Foley
    Iwelumo
    Stearman
    Ward
    Surman

Its a joke. Especially considering Kightly, Foley and SEB were our 3 best players last season.

Yes its a fair injury list that. Hope we dont miss that many players at the same time otherwise we'll be playing our under 12's:(

Its even more of a problem for us newly promoted clubs because we already have a smaller pool of quality players to pick from than established teams, Keeping players fit will be a major factor in deciding whether any of us 3 teams stay up.

Yep, be a struggle for my boys anyway with a fit squad so with 4 or 5 first teamers out of the side for any lenth of time would be it near impossible imo. I thought the defender we signed from Utd was going to be a good player for us but looking at him against Hartlepool where he got sent off and again last night where he was lucky not to be shown the red again my opinion is starting to change. Seems to stand too square on when faced with an attacking player and Hamill i think it was got past him everytime near enough.

Can really do without the Beast being out for a couple of weeks even dont think OPenny is anywhere near the standard needed at this level.

"As we thought, Brian suffered a dead leg and I am hopeful he could be fit for the weekend.

"But the news on Martin Paterson is a little worse. He has tweaked a cartilage and will undergo an operation tonight (Wednesday), at which point we will know further how long he will be sidelined for."

From the official site. Come on Beast he's a big lad and a tough fella I'm sure he'll be fighting fit for Saturday. Unlucky Patto, this is the last thing a player needs who is already low on confidence, we now need Fletcher and Nugent to step up now!

Deadlegs can keep you out for a game or two though, just hope the Beast overcomes it before the Spuds game at the weekend because im dreading the thought of Penny going in goal:slap:
