Arrived on Tyneside yesterday afternoon and this morning has become the first signing under new Head Coach, Steve McClaren.

Have to admit I am very impressed by this signing. Quality player and natural leader. Hopefully link up well with sicknote (De Jong) if he can stay fit.

    Thoughts ?

Add Mitrovic & there'll be talk of a takeover. This is so unlike Mike Ashley. Good signing.

Hope he picks up the pace of the prem straight away, he is clearly a replacement buy for the moose when he leaves after the euros
Let's just hope there is another 4-6 players of his quality joining him a forward and a full defensive overhaul

Hope he links up well with Charlie after bookies have suspended betting on him joining THE TOON!!

    Paddy Power statement:
“After one of the most drawn transfer sagas of the summer, it looks like Newcastle have finally got their man with punters weighing-in behind Austin to join the Toon all morning.¨

Chuffed about the signing. The lad does look good,

Just need to get Austin deal completed.

It's good business to start with those two but I think we still need two defenders and midfielder.

Good signing for Newcastle. Getting Austin as well would be excellent. Keep signing these types of player and you're in for a good season.

Eye but we still need a centre half a striker and a left full back
    To challenge food table
I looks like Mr Ashley has tried his way and failed,so fingers crossed that
Some good times will be had next season and no drubbings, I don't mind
Getting beat but the manner in which we lose offends me.

Will this be enough to stop the protests?

I think Mitrovic will be confirmed today that's one striker.
Were looking at a defender from the same club. Mbemba is his name.

If we get them both it will be a good start.

We need at least one more centre back and one more midfielder after that but they do look promising signings so far.

I am ambitious for next season :pray

I'm not, Maclaren plays to much tactile football we need to have a go at teams.
We defo need a left back as dummet plays better at centre half

Obviously he's not the man we wanted for the job but the intent is there.

This is the likely going to be the most money we've ever dropped in a transfer window I just hope that the players he has brought in are up for it.

Especially towards the end of last season that was our biggest problem zero heart and zero desire.

Yeah that was a bad day I still can't believe he's signed to Palace now.

Well I bloody hope note mate lol he isn't the manager we wanted at the start but at least it looks like he's finally getting the financial backing we wanted to see.

And if these new signings make an impact he'll be sorted with the toon faithful.

Two more defenders in I will be ready for next season.

In complete shock at the fact that a top with a name and number is nearly £70 nowadays

Well I think that Mr Ashley has tried it his way and failed,
I think he realises now and is going to make it work. He Doesnt
Seem the type of fella to like to fail at anything.

Yeah mate on Sunday I spent £101 on a strip and socks for my eight year old.
What I've heard is 2 more signings Mbemba and Austin.

Yeah my dad has a few friends who are season ticket owners and last season was one of the worst apparently for people not renewing them.

So he has probably started to realise if he doesn't make it better he might start losing revenue from falling attendances and ours have always been some of the highest in the country so he wont want that to start.

I would take that as are last two signings. I would prefer two defenders but Austin would be a cracking signing.

I'm happy with Perez I think they will be great together him and mitrovic or djong we have an abundance of midfielders, a centre half and a good left full back we got a good side.
