Signed Tom Whelan from Eastleigh. Great move should never have let him leave, one that fell out with Rowe.

I see Barnet took Louis Walsh off Southend. I think he's a big loss, whenever he played he was one of the better players on the pitch, always tried and always looking to take people on. I think he's a victim of the style Maher wants, we don't really use wingers, shame really cos I think there is a very decent player there.

Not sure about Maher not wanting wingers, Powell played wide on both sides during the Woking game in the first half. I think it was more his all round game and particularly the defensive side that was not what Maher wants and a demonstration of the increase in standards maher is asking for to break into the 1st team now.

As I agree there is a good player in Louis Walsh, but not the type Maher is looking for.

We don't use wingers in a traditional sense though, we use wide forwards and Walsh is basically an old fashioned winger. I think he's a great player to come off the bench and get at players and also a great player to keep in the squad should we have needed to change formation and do something a bit different. Maybe if this division had 7 on the bench instead of 5 he'd still be here.

Quite possibly, but I still feel the defensive and pressing side of his game isn't as strong as others and as he said in his joining interview at Barnet, he wasn't going to get the game time at our place, so better to go somewhere where he would. As with any young player being released only time will tell if it is the right decision or not.

So let me get this right.

Did Chesterfield sign Whelen for a fee last season.

Release or sell him in the summer..

Now they have re signed him for a fee again.

    Great strategy.

You guys are really going for it this season aren't you.

In short… yes. He was a fan’s favourite and Rowe suddenly dropped him and released him. Fall out. Glad to see him back but it is an odd strategy I must admit. Having said that I’m glad he’s here.

Makes sense for both clubs then, Maher doesn't like wingers and Brennan doesn't like strikers.

That's pretty much the size of it! Just another victim of Rowe suddenly deciding he didn't like him. Doubt we've paid a lot for him though

Grimsby increase their squad to a nice round 50 players then.

    | We can confirm that Josh Hare has joined Dagenham & Redbridge FC on a permanent deal, for an undisclosed fee.
We thank Josh for his efforts whilst at the Spitfires, and wish him well for the future.

    Some of the comments from their Facebook page;

Oh my days!! That’s again one of our best players what on earth is going on!!

another gone ffs, they'll start losing attendance next as no players left

Looks like a Fire sale at Eastleigh and we have them next on Tuesday......

They were awful today. If we could shoot (or didn’t ease off massively with an eye on our fixture pile-up), could easily have got more than the six we got against Barnet. Trying to play on the break with a completely immobile Brett Pitman lumbering about upfront on his own, hopeless.

It seemed like a really knee jerk decision to sack Strevens. His assistant is still caretaker and no sign of a replacement.

We signed someone called Djair Parfitt-Williams on Sunday
We might be the last team to have signed a double-barrelled player this season?
