?

Was it a good or bad thing that Ayr United FC was not bought in 1988 by David Murray?

In 1988, Ayr United fan and businessman Sir David Murray offered to buy the club but the club's shareholders rejected the bid by a vote of 60 to 56.

Murray’s initial offer of £90,000 ti buy Ayr United FC.

Ayr United had they been bought by David Murray [in 1988] would have a far better stadium i.e. 8,000 All-Seated like ST MIRREN'S stadium but would be on the verge OF LIQUIDATION if the way he ran RANGERS is anything to go by.

Murray’s Ayr bid, which peaked at £1.25 million and offered £17.50 per share which had been trading at only £4.50, found support from only four of the club’s 47 principal shareholders. In short, it was kicked into touch by an overwhelming margin of 19,036 shares to 2,090.

The figurehead of the people who are still largely responsible for holding back Scottish football. He may not have directly owned a fair few Scottish clubs but he controlled them. Dunfermline being the main one. Would not surprise me one iota if he is still involved in the background now at the new Rangers as there are a lot of similarities between how both those clubs cheat.
