Peter Handyside, former Stoke, Barnsley and Grimsby defender has died aged just 49
Really sad about this - he was our captain when we got promoted from League 1 in 2002. No age either
    RIP :(

Tragic. We'd have been gearing up to a massive showdown with Kipchoge in London and at the Olympics in Paris.

    RIP

He was absolutely brilliant for us too, was one of the best CB pairings I’ve seen play for us Handyside alongside Paul Futcher, now sadly both gone. :(

Sad news, loved Steve Wright in the afternoon in the mid 80's when I was just fresh out of school and starting my first job. Can't remember all of the characters but they were funny at the time.

    RIP

I remember listening to him in the early 90's, the character phone ins were hilarious.

    Very sad news.

The pioneer (in the UK at least) of the 'posse' style radio show, back when such shows were original and funny.

    Rest in Peace

Mr Mad and Mr Angry (from Purley) were both characters on his 80's afternoon show on Radio 1.

The one that sticks in my mind was the Voice Over Man that I remember hearing on my way to school when he hosted the Radio 1 Breakfast Show 30 years ago. Brilliant broadcaster and a shocking loss.

His self titled 'Big Show' annoyed me. Was glad Radio 2 got rid of his afternoon show. Scott Mills is awful as well.
