WP lads! Minimal game play from me - but more than enough! Like the set up but Town really do need to play it strategiclay and no one wanted to show their hands or work together. Huge chance you have Doctors and Cops every night ffs
We have Doctors and Cops every night but knowing that there could be more than 1 of each means scum could claim (as Shane did in this game). It would have been a better setup if there was concretely one Cop and one Doctor each night. That would also have enabled the townies to share their own information more readily too.
Scum could claim, as evident by Shane doing so. It's a gamble (like any play in Mafia) but a gamble the Town never had the balls to take but definitely needed to.
There's no element of risk for scum fake claiming in this format though. Fake claims should always be difficult, it was too easy for scum in this.
Agree with you, happy we won but I'm not fond of the setup, aside from being pretty pro scum it also didn't have enough variety. Felt like the entire game was just going through the motions.
wp mafia, I like bold mafia moves like that. Yeah it kinda does. Why did we play a game that has a 60% mafia > 20% town win % in the first place? That's something that definitely needs checked before we play a setup in future. As for the 20% abandoned, there was alot of apathy from town, I think it was complex for townies to get their heads round what to do on day 1, which was a crucial day. By the time I joined the game it was a bit of a mess & people were barely posting.
In hindsight it seems skewed against Town, but it wasn't that apparent early on. Problem I see is that this format made it extremely difficult for Town to disprove a claim. Shane appeared to be a Cop early doors by pushing against SS, it's very hard to justify spending your one investigation on Shane after that point. The format sort of encourages infighting, because its easy to claim to be a Cop and false confirm someone or play a great move like Mafia did. Looking back the Mafia players didn't have to do much, as mostly it was Townies attacking Townies. Which is part of the game, but the format made it hard to generate a decent lead. So anytime a Townie revealed his role he was instantly the biggest suspect. Hard to prove and nigh on impossible to disprove. Usually Townies are able to share information and build a case, but this kind of game discouraged sharing information. I'd avoid this in future, but every format has its flaws.
