To decide whether to sign a new contract , we've offered him a 1 year deal, hes 36 been at the club years and we're playing in the premiership cant really see him refusing it to be honest. Think he'll mainly be used as a back up but id like to see him end his career with us
One of the best value for money signings we've had if not the best
we paid something like £35,000 for him around 10 year back:duke

Been a great servant to the club, Would love to see him end his career with us. Could see him as a coach once his career ends aswell.

I think hes already taking his badges as well. Would be okay for the odd game as back up but its nailed on that we'll replace him as a starter

He's too old for it unfortunately. He wasn't that great when we came up last time either, He's declined as a player since then aswell.

Last season he surprised me he was pretty solid along side Shackell and for me was one of his best seasons since he joined us. don't think hes every started as many games in one season either.

Shackell did most of the work at the back during the season, Duff just cleared any balls that came near him and made a few decent tackles. Kevin Long seemed a better player to me.
He started pretty much every game for us when he first joined I think?

Long was outstanding in one of the games he played then was dropped a game or so later for Duff. i can see us sending him out on loan again. Hopefully to a championship side this time. Shackell was the leader but i think your playing down the part Duff played in the side not that it happened often but Duff covered for Shackell a number of times if he got beaten its what a good partnership is all about and they were solid and the record proves.
time for it to be broken up now though

Duff has been a great servant to the club and he deserves his time in the Premier League with us, even if it's only a place on the bench. He's still an important squad member and a great role model for the younger players to look up to. If we did end up starting him come the first game of the season, we would get destroyed.
