I am exactly the same. Just played the career mode this morning why the kids are at school....coaches is a nice touch but i couldn't see much else different!
i shouldn't be surprised--and it's my fault for buying it on release, despite my yearly vow not to--but the disappointing amount of issues upon release yet again is just frustrating. faces that were in fifa 23 were removed for some reason, even managers. just leave them in the game ffs. tons of bugs, such as the game crashing when you fire one of your coaches in manager career. feels like the game is just rushed to be released each year without a proper test before launch.
Only played mobile, its good but why the game has goalkeepers is a mystery as they are just holograms. Also the player speed seems somewhat pointless, a player like Fati with good pace cant outrun anyone, he's had a 5 yard start and still gets caught by an average defender. PVP is fun till you get to Pro1 which sadly I have and the you are just up against the 40 year old virgins who dont miss a beat. Haven't played FIFA for years but even though its good there is to much focus on skill moves and is more like FIFA Street at times. The AI of players has clearly not even been done, have laughed so much at the utter spasticness of players who just seem to stand still while the ball is 5 yards in front of them or run off in a random direction.
im holding out for buying a PS5 to play this... the PS4 version is meant to be gash i know you are able to buy it with the option of upscaling it from PS4 to PS5 but have heard people have issues with that process
fellow manager career players, what sort of issues/bugs are you encountering? the one that's been the biggest headache for me is players randomly requesting a transfer after missing one match, oftentimes due to a red card or pretty much no stamina. i had three players do this before the january transfer window in my most recent save.
- High potential youth players that I send out on loan and within one week I look at my squad hub they have gone up +11 overall rating. (I immediately call them back lol). - Players freaking out for being benched 1 game (yet the player reputation bar is all the way full/green). I haven't experienced the transfer request yet. - Players wanting improved contracts like 2 or 3 times within a season. (Contract unhappy emoji) - Players set at sporadic upset they only play 1-2 times a month.
i really don't think these games are tested before release. the number of glitches and bugs at launch is getting out of hand.
I think the same can go for a lot of the big corporations I’m afraid. I play a lot of Call of Duty and it’s exactly the same. Bug after bug at the launch of a new update.
Games are no longer rigorously tested before release/updates. I have a few former game QA testers who now work for me in a different field; the long and short of it is they became no longer required. Why would you pay 5, 10, 20, 30 or even 300 people to playtest your game when you can simply release it to hundreds of thousands or even millions of live play-testers who have paid for the privilege? You get your feedback quicker, and you can release updates just as quickly because almost every game is pretty much a live-service game right now. Even in the days of game testing being a "thing", a lot of those testers were just people who wanted early access to the game and "volunteered" to get an early access copy. Now we have people paying for early access. Game testing is done. Expect major flaws on release. It's the modern way.
You're not wrong. I was just pointing out that it shouldn't be a surprise... hell, even Early Access games that never made it to a full release have earned millions and so long as that continues, where is the incentive for companies to invest in ensuring bug free releases?
I haven't bought the last few FIFA's but I am tempted to pick up this one when its on offer or get the next one. I am getting fed up of COD so this could be the replacement.
Haven't bothered with this franchise yet but it's one of the Playstation games of the month so worth a free download. It'll be interesting to see any differences from the FIFA of old.
Yeah, I've given up on FIFA. When I need a football fix I'm now playing the Ultimate Master League mod for PES 2021 and it's a much more enjoyable experience.
I downloaded it as it's free, I refuse to pay for EA games. In terms of gameplay, I don't feel it's better than efootball now. There's just a lot more you can do on the game which appeals to people (especially younger ones!) so I can see why it does well. As a game though, it's nothing more than OK and I've found defending practically impossible, especially when people run at you
