    Given it came out two months before my 3rd birthday, I'm amazed that I have vivid memories of this song:

    The next song I remember being number 1 for what seemed like an eternity was Ride on Time by Black Box. It was number 1 on my 5th birthday and my mum played it to death.

    I was ten years old when The Beatles split up and later the same year (I think) Radio One DJ Brian Matthew did a two or three hour special every sunday afternoon, playing nigh on every Beatle record for around six or seven weeks. My old man used to have a reel to reel tape recorder and taped the lot so when I was a kid growing up I kind of learnt every fab four record there was. My brother, who is five years older than me, really got the Beatle bug and ended up having twin boys years later, you can guess what their names and middle names are, right? His wife drew the line at Ringo so the one lad is John Richard. Anyway, one of those early reel to reel songs that got a lot of airplay was this;

    Some early songs I can remember are early Oasis tracks and some Beautiful South tracks. First 2 CDs I really remember hearing in the car were Definitely Maybe and Blue is the Colour.

    It was released a couple of years before I was born but I vividly remember my dad playing this quite a bit on the record player when I was very little. Very distinctive and unique song so it's difficult to mistake it. Probably the earliest song I can remember hearing and I can definitely identify it.

    Bloody Liberace :roflmao

    My eldest sister had the hots for him and as we only had a black & white tv with no pop shows she would hear him on the radio and turn the volume up, I was around 7 years old then when I first heard him singing.
