I never create threads think only done 4/5 in the best part of 20 years on this forum. So i'll take full accountability if we fail to beat the bitters on Wednesday. That's not an option though like Fulham this is a must win..... I think the majority of us think City will win league but it'll be nice to keep pressure on until last match. Game prediction: 2-1 Liverpool.
anything could happen here. everton might think a point = safety and park a bus. lfc might score early then try defend and fail before scoring 3 later. there might be multiple red cards. we do know however Ashley Young will be targeted.....for 5mins. I do think Everton are now in that position thst they have one real game to focus on and that's Luton who have to win. I really think dyche will park a bus and leave one, max two up as cb pressers who might just get a break away.
Seen Everton take a kicking recently, James Rodriguez, Richarlison and Gordon being targeted so hopefully different tactics from Liverpool this time at Goodison. Sadly I think it'll be a Liverpool away win but you never know, An Everton win would pretty much make them safe.
I mean, FFS. I have no doubt in my mind losing Jota to injuries this season has been the biggest loss.
Everton are very much the underdogs here. Everybody takes 3 points off them. It would be a really bad side that loses or draws against them.
Yeah, **** goal difference, thats gone now we aint catching Arsenal via GD...just win each game 1-0 for all I care, just win the effin things.
I'm starting to worry The Slot Machine is going to become one of those injury prone players now maybe not on same level as Studge or Naby Keith but someone who is always going to miss portions of the season and that concerns me. He's our most natural goalscorer and has the highest shot to goal conversation rate out of all our forwards. Nunez is always going to be hit and miss imo and chances are The Egyptian could be off in the summer so we need a replacement soon. I know it's a must win game but I wouldn't be against Jayden Danns starting tonight flanked by Salah and Diaz/Nunez give him some service and the kid will hit the back of the net. It'd be a big decision by Klopp but one that I'd like to see happen be nice and brave.
After the weekend Everton will probably get a VAR decision against them and Dyche will clean they never have it going their way !
Honestly? I completely agree. Liverpool player takes tumble in Everton's box tonight I am expecting a penalty even if it turns out to be one of the softest ones of the season. Something that we need to try and play on. Run at them at every opportunity cause as much chaos as possible and see what luck we can get from them.
Becoming the new Matip. Great player but simply can't be relied on. As for the game will be a case of breaking them down and avoiding yard dog cnuts like Ashley Young. They'll celebrate a draw as if it was their first trophy for 30 years, so expect 10 men behind the ball 95% of the time it's in play. But ultimately even a club as flakey as Liverpool are right now will be too much for them. Because, let's face it, Everton are shite. 0-2
It's a tough one. The way he plays will obviously increase risk of injury - the bloke presses the ball like a madman. And then obviously when he has the ball it is usually pretty intense play too. The injury that has curtailed this season was a freak one from my memory - a Brentford player landed on him iirc. This one I guess is muscle (?) aggravation though and the sort of thing that does plague him. It's wicked annoying because he is so brilliant when fit. Easily one of my favourite players at the club. He'd be on 20+ goals right now, and Liverpool would have more points on the board if not for that Brentford oaf.
It is going to wicked annoying as Everton suddenly show up tonight and play like 70s Brazil somehow after a run of 2 wins in 16 games.
Jota out is a huge blow with the way Nunez and Mo are playing. Really hope we can make City or Arsenal earn it and take it to the last day but gonna be an interesting game this one. Hopefully a few benefit from their rest vs Fulham.
The way the game is going, I feel there's as many injury prone players as there are players who get acceptable levels of injury rates. A player who plays rugularly 50 games a season is almost a luxury, and is probably worth a premium these days.
Our best defender Stones is one of our most injury prone and look at KDB/Haaland this year, it's for others step up
Yeah injuries only become magnified if the rest of the players don't rise to the occasion. Liverpool are stacked in the frontline so it shouldn't feel like a deflating moment - but sadly it is because the rest of the forwards at the club have ran so hot and cold recently. One thing that is helpful is TAA looked up to speed on Sunday. Him and Robertson will be important in the final stretch.
