AFC Bury v North Shields is being shown Live on BBC Red Button & or the iPlayer Saturday 3rd September kick off at 12.30 as start of qualifying rounds . Not sure if AFC Bury still play at Gigg Lane but reckon I'll have a watch.
Kind of a hard watch , not the match , the blurry & wobbly camera work . 1-0 Bury AFC at half time played at Radcliffe Football Club not Gigg Lane , should be 2 or 3 really , more of a competitive watch than Celtic v Rangers atm.
2-1 to Bury AFC in the end albeit I missed the winning goal having a pee . A few extra £ in the phoenix clubs coffers in front of 936 fans & about 60-80 away fans a few donning Newcastle shirts . I wonder if Sunderland fans go & watch South Shields ?
Wrexham away to Blyth Spartans. Last played them in 1978. At home losing 1-0 and in the 90th minute the ref awarded a corner when it should have been a goal kick. The resulting corner was caught by the keeper but the ref made it be retaken as the flag had fallen down. From the second corner kick Wrexham equalised. We won the replay at St. James's Park. Jammy buggers.
Posh v Salford ( glad to be at home but still a toughy ) If the class of 92 turn up Posh v Becks Curzon Ashton v Scumbridge ( Curzon knocked out Peterborough Sports on Saturday , bet Jimmy Deane P.Sports manager gutted missing out on a good pay day )
Harrogate at home. Not the best draw and would've been nice to get one of the smaller teams, but we could have got a L1 team and could have been away so can't complain I guess. Some good ties with the big boys and non-leaguers.
Let's not talk about the fact that there are 152 more posts in the 2nd FA cup thread then this one... I hadn't seen the draw yet but saw Sports had lost on Saturday. That's such a shame, although I imagine the police will be pretty happy they've avoided that problem.
Would have been fun albeit there were enough idiots from Posh & Leicester at the Bee Arena when Sports played Coalville in the play offs with the ol' bill not expecting 1,850 crowd & the game being stopped for 15 mins because of trouble . Did you get tickets for 29th the first Cambridgeshire League derby for over 20 years ?
Wrexham home to Oldham in Round 1 live on ITV, expect tens of millions to tune into this massive game.
Went by the Hereford game tonight. Love FA Cup 1st Round, they had a hit the crossbar competition at HT and the winning prize was a wheelbarrow.
South Shields live on BBC One tomorrow against Forest Green of League One. Should be a brilliant game and test. South Shields is my hometown & I would’ve loved to have gone, but a combination of work and going to the Sunderland game means I can’t go. Will be hoping they go through though. Would be brilliant if they were to draw us or Newcastle should they get that far.
