Celtic beat Rangers 3-1 earlier tonight in the first of 2 Old Firm games within 4 days.

The league cup Semi-Final at Hampden was a bitterly contested battle, as Old Firm games often are, which resulted in 3 red-cards and several yellows.

Chris Sutton got Celtic off to a flier in the 7th minute, and player of the moment Henrik Larsson doubled Celtics league 10 minutes later. A spell of dominace for Rangers was rewarded with a soft penalty, which Jorg Labertz duly converted.

Another soft penalty in the second-half though, converted by Larrsson, made the final score 3-1 to Celtic. In the dying minutes, a scuffle resulted in Claudio Reyna and Michael Mols of Rangers, and Lubo Moravcik of Celtic, all being sent-off, for what seemed to be little more than separating other players.

This could prove to be a massive psychological boost for Celtic ahead of Sunday's big League game at Parkhead - it is thought that should Celtic emerge victorious on Sunday, there will be no way back for Rangers this season.
