I signed up last night. It's basically an online stock market style trading website, in which you can buy or sell "shares" in football players. Each day, whichever player is in the media the most is that day's "buzz player". They have a detailed web of tools to pick up all the media headlines. And if you own any shares in the buzz player, you receive a 20p cash dividend / prize per share. The price of the players will therefore rise (or fall) depending on their performance and how likely they are to create headlines. I've deposited £40 and stuck a load on Dele Alli at approx. £2.20 per share in anticipation of him being nominated for young player of the year / in the England Euro 2016 squad. He's already risen 5p per share since I bought last night. Therefore I've already made profit before he pays any dividends. I could just sell now to realise that profit, or keep him in my portfolio, in anticipation of more future growth, and that's what I am doing. It's a great site, and a genuinely good investment opportunity if you know your football. www.footballindex.co.uk (I am not affiliated to this website in any way )
That sounds like a really good idea to be honest. Can you short on there as well (I.e. bet that a player becomes less popular?) One thing which I am a bit cynical about though is surely you could make a bit of cash if you had a media contact? I.e. "Put a small story about Vardy in the Mirror for me?" - anyway I'll check it out later. If you knew about it earlier you should have put money on Berahino before the summer. Edit: I was also just thinking. Say there's an obscure player who is thrown into the first 11 in the last minute? Couldn't you quickly buy his shares before K.O? I.e. lets say you arrive at the Albion tomorrow, see Rondon is injured and Anichebe starts, couldn't I quickly buy Anichebe shares? Because this happened against Newcastle. Ok, so I've just signed up - the one thing which pisses me off is that it's not got many players on there, for instance I can't use Rondon, but Berahino is on there. P.s. SL Alli is now at £2.89 - if you sold now how much would you make? I hope I don't get addicted to this
So it's the top 200 players only. Every week, the 2 players in that 200 who are trading at the cheapest price drop out of the 200. And the top two voted players in the squad rise into the top 200 and their shares are issued at £1 each. From that point they trade normally. In other words, if you get on these new players quickly at £1, you could make tidy profit. Charlie Adam floated at £1 early today, he's now worth over £2. 50 shares on him and that's £50 profit! I have made 3% profit on Alli in the 24 hours since I joined. 12p per share, very decent! Just bought £51 worth of Neymar shares. Already risen by 1p, so that's 10p profit Ballin
I read about this a few weeks back and liked the idea of it. Just chucked £15 in to get myself going and got myself a promising looking portfolio of Neymar, Pogba, Stones, Bellerin and Coman. Give enough money to the bookies so not fussed if this goes t*ts up but if it does I'll hold it against you forever SL.
Do you have to pay any fee's or anything when you withdraw? Or membership fees? Sounds a good laugh, will have a look.
Sounds interesting. Luke Shaw would be somebody to lump on now while he's still injured, because when he comes back his price will rocket.
Ok, just that as I clicked on the site I saw the ticker tape thingy say "Jack R has just bought Neymar" and had noticed you'd said you had bought him around the same tme I was looking.
