Like this: I vote XXX. You must vote in the voting thread, as opposed to via PM. What about the Mafia's/Cartel's votes? They are allowed to vote on the day lynch just like the townsfolk. Their night-kill is separate to their votes on the lynch, so they will be able to use the opportunity and attempt to blend in with the town during the voting process. Do I have to vote? No, you don't have to. The town can also vote 'no lynch', so there is nothing forcing you to kill during the day phase. Am I allowed to tell people what my role is? Yes! And as the game goes on it is likely to become more and more necessary for townies to come forward with their roles (and potentially, for the mafia/cartel to fabricate theirs). What are the times for the day and night phases? Day phase - 10:00 to 22:00 GMT Night phase - 22:00 to 10:00 GMT RULES OBJECTIVE If you are TOWN aligned, then your objective is to kill every member of the mafia. Every Townsperson is victorious once the last mafioso and cartel member has died. If you are MAFIA aligned, then your objective is to remove all of the cartel and get to a stage where the number of Mafia players left alive is greater than the number of Town players left alive. If you are CARTEL aligned, then your objective is to remove all of the mafia and get to a stage where the number of Cartel players left alive is greater than the number of Town players left alive. HOW IT WORKS The game begins with every played being randomly assigned a role. These will be PM'd to you by me. During the day phase, players will be able to discuss their suspicions in the thread. The ultimate goal of the day phase is to determine which player will be lynched by voting in the thread. Once the day phase is over, the votes will be tallied up and the player who received the most will be killed. Once dead, the role of the lynched player will be revealed. During night phase, Both the Mafia and Cartel will be able to pick someone from the town that they wish to kill. The choice's will be revealed once both families send their night kills, and the dead player's role is also exposed. This continues until one side achieves their objective. RULES 1. No discussing the game outside of the thread or in PMs (unless you are in the mafia or your role permits it). 2. Once dead, you are no longer able to post in the thread. A farewell "Urgh, I'm dead" post is fine but you must stay quiet after that. 3. No posting screenshots of anything I send to you in PMs. You should be trying to convince people through your words and actions, not through mine. Similarly, no direct quoting from my PMs - pass on the information in your own words, if you have to. 4. The town is allowed to 'No Lynch' at the end of a day phase. This option must receive the majority of votes. 5. If a lynch-vote is tied, nobody gets killed. 6. No editing posts. 7. Please cast your votes using Bold and Underline. If you decide to change your vote during the day phase, please write who you're changing your vote from as well. (EG: I change my vote from X to Y). 8. Deliberate and persistent rule-breaking could lead to you being modkilled. THE THREAD It might be a little difficult to know what to do on the first day. The idea of the thread is that the townsfolk discuss who they think may or may not be mafia, with the mafia trying not to draw suspicion towards them. The first day or two might be a little slow but as people begin to use their abilities, the evidence will begin to arrive. Expect things to get pretty heated at certain points in the game (that's how we know it's fun). If you're not sure about a rule, you can post a question to me in the thread (if it is something to do with your role, though, it's probably best to do it via PM). Enjoy! POSSIBLE ROLES Town Mayor - This player is confirmed as Town at the start of the game, and has the ability to cast two votes during the daily lynch. If killed a new mayor will be elected. Cop - This player has a number of investigations they can perform on other players. They will be able to send me a PM asking for the alignment and role of another player, which they will receive. Doctor - Each day, this player is able to choose one other person to protect from the mafia night-kill. If the mafia target a protected person, then their kill will fail. Siblings - Two or three players who are permitted to communicate with each other outside of the thread. Though normally town, there is the possibility that one of the siblings may be a member of the mafia, unbeknownst to their brother/sister. Vigilante - This player has a one-off ability to kill another player during the day. Desperado - similar to a vigilante, targets a player to be killed. if they are mafia the desperado stays alive but if they target a townie they die. Limited to one kill per day. Vengeful Suicide Bomber - This player is able to kill another player, but in doing so will also kill himself. If lynched or the person can take additional person of their choosing with them. If they are targeted for a night kill they take a Mafia/Cartelout with them . Bomb - If targeted for a kill, this player will take another man down with him. If they are lynched, a player who voted for them will randomly be killed as well. If targeted by the mafia during the night, they will take a random member of the mafia with them. Lie Detector - This player can select a statement from another person and send it to me to have it lie-detected. Usually they will have a very limited amount of uses with this ability. Priest - This player will be able to force another player to 'confess' their role and alignment in the thread. They will only be able to do this once. Universal Back-up - This player will inherit the role of the first or second town-aligned player with an ability to be killed. Fool - This player can only vote at random. Coward - This player can trade his vote in for immunity during the night-kill. Miller - This player is Town-aligned, but will show up as Mafia if investigated. Lynchproof townie - like the name says they are lynchproof for one time only but not night kill proof. Vanilla Townie - This player has no special abilities. Mafia The Godfather - This player is the head of the Mafia, and can only be killed if his Bodyguard has already been taken down. If the town attempts to lynch the Godfather before the Bodyguard is dead, the lynch will fail. He can also get 2 people to go on strike, preventing those players from posting in the thread until after the lynching. if investigated will come up as vanilla. Bodyguard - Has no special abilities, but whilst alive the Godfather cannot be killed. Stalker - This player can find out the specific role of a non Mafia Member. Limited uses. Recruiter - Can make another player "an offer they can't refuse", in which the target will have to either convert to Mafia or be killed. One use. You can recruit the mayor. If you try recruit a Cartel they kill themselves rather than join the Mafia. Conman - This player can disguise the role of another player if investigated. They have a limited amount of uses, and can choose to disguise the role of either Town , Cartel or Mafia aligned players. Roleblocker - This player has a one-off special ability to block another player from using their power for a day. Thief - This player has a one-off special ability to steal the power of another player and use it themselves for one day. Persuader - Can force another player to change their vote Silencer - Can prevent another player from posting in the thread for 24 hours. Colombian Cartel Generalissimo - This player is the head of the Cartel, and can only be killed if his Lieutenant has already been taken down. If the town attempts to lynch the Drug Lord before the Lieutenant is dead, the lynch will fail. He also has the power to force another player to change their vote. if investigated will come up as vanilla. Lieutenant - Has no special abilities, but whilst alive the Drug Lord cannot be killed. Not all roles will be filled, some may be used twice If a person is recruited they lose their old power. If a member of the other family gets recruited they die instead of joining. I'll say it again, you've got two pretty much identical roles in Vengeful Suicide Bomber and the Bomb. Also when do we get roles?
Good that there is only 25 or so people in this. Last game i took part in there was about 50, which was far to many.
