We have been constantly turning profits for years, we CAN afford to spend more than we are atm.

If the club is relying on just getting in Europe to sustain itself then its been run wrong, if we sell £20 Million worth of assets and get into the CL group stages then we should be spending what we have earned and more, who the **** cares about a perfect balance sheet, there is not a successful club in Europe with one.

Speculate to accumulate its that simple, we don't spend we get ****ed off clubs like Legia. We do spend we make the CL and the profits continue, its all about ambition and too may people are wiling to accept mediocrity because it fits in with Lawwells supposed balance sheet.

We are being taken for absolute mugs, In 2012/13 we made a profit of around £13 Million (according to our accounts), we then in season 13/14 spent around £10 Million and that is not taking into consideration our player sales from that season also. We can afford to back a new manager with decent signings in his first season so we can SPECULATE TO ACCUMULATE (as every major club does). then he has to work within a budget until he brings his own success. I think every Celtic fan can accept that.

    Heard it all before mate.

Have a look at the accounts and tell me where all this cash is. If you can show me where it is (or that there has been a fraud because it's not there) then i'll reassess my line of thought.

It takes a fortune to run the whole operation in a year. The cash simply isn't there.

Don't want to get involved I don't know a great deal about Celtic...but I think there is a little cash about not a whole lot.

In terms of qualifying for the CL I agree you need to probably get better players in as in my opinion the quality you have has gone down over the years. But looking at it from the point of view of the board you aught to get into the group stages with the team you have. Then your in the money, well your where you need to be to be making serious money to keep the club going. Realistically drawn against some big European clubs is it worth spending to get out the group when it will be unlikely? No. Because those players will be on your books for seasons to come.

Do you need to spend to win stuff domestically? No.

Seems as if the board have a plan which is for some unknown reason to back the new manager let him win stuff domestically for a few years and grow into the role and build a new team on the cheap for the long term.

Unless Rangers can anytime soon mount a title challenge no one else should, you should be good to keep selling the better players and changing this team around.

The logic in that I don't get.

Lennon left for whatever reason, a break? Players being sold to keep the club profitable? A different challenge. No more ambition from the club to go further in Europe or he just couldn't really do any more for the club.

It's going to be difficult but i really hope we can get a deal for Forster over the line. He's got his confidence back and has been a revelation for us for a second time.

It will take a bit of give and go on all sides and hopefully it can be done.

He has flaws in his game, but the positives far outweigh the negatives.

He has made such a huge impact that I don't think most of us want to consider the thought of anyone else in between the sticks next season.

We need to do everything we can to make this happen.

Can only echo the above. He’s been hugely important for us. Can’t believe he wasn’t rated at Southampton.
