About bloody time too. For the first time evidence/documents after the controversial 3.15 cut-off time to be looked at. Many of the fans were still alive way past this time and yet the stitch-up in the courts refused to listen to any evidence after that time. Now we can find out why the hell the 40+ ambulances were refused entry, despite being outside the ground and many more hidden secrets the police didn't want to talk about. Its only taken 20+ years.

PS - Please can we just have decent discussion here and no "You lot were pissed and charged the gates" shite from the usual muppets...thank you!!!

It is about bloody time ... its utter madness that this wasn't the case 20 years ago.

Hopefully this is a massive step in getting justice for the 96.

it'd be nice to get the truth out in the open.. most of us who were there know the truth but sadly the majority of other wont believe us.

i wonder if,once the truth does come out,we'll be rid of these lies about how we were all pissed up,ticketless, charged the gates and killed our own fans?

not to mention the lies of that shit excuse for a newspaper, which played on the negative images of scouses to spread lies about robbing the dead and beating up brave police officers as they tried to save lives.

if we are proven blameless and papers print front page headlines that we were not to blame, there will always be a mindless minority who will still spread the lies printed by the sun

Forgive my ignorance, but what does the '3.15pm cut off' mean exactly? Is this a time that the coroner came up with and said basically nobody could have survived after that, therefore nobody could be prosecuted for their perceived negligence after this seemingly arbitrary time?

    Yup, that's about it mate.

They, the police, for some reason refused 40+ ambulances into the ground (despite them being parked up outside) which could have saved many of the lives, so to cover their arses in the trial they refused to listen to anything after that time and claimed all 96 (sorry 95 as Tony Bland the 96th died a few days/weeks later) were dead at that time. Just another shocking episode in the whitewash of a trial. Yet an ambulance medic claimed one of the victims was still alive up until 4pm or so. Only one effin ambulance was allowed through :angryfire

This basically allowed them to get the verdict of "accidental death" whereas with all the evidence (regarding ambulances, etc) it could well have been a much more realistic verdict...criminal negligence, manslaughter or whatever.

the one ambulance that DID get onto the pitch, the driver had to force his way through the police lines! the driver himself has since said it's been one big cover up.

20 years too late :angryfire Won't bring anyone back, but at the very least I think the public should be told the truth. I doubt it will stop some of those who like the myths though, someone should really bring certain myth spreaders to task and make them state it was all made up (probably got it off some bloke outside the ground who doesn't like LFC and they took it as gospel)

I would like to know what was said between Thatcher and the then head of the police in Yorkshire when they met at Hillsborough a few day's after the disaster. It was in one of the documentaries stating. "Was this the start of the cover up"

There could be reference to it in Jimmy McGovern's Hillsborough Disaster documentary. KK was it Sir Irvine Patnick? We all know about that Lying Bar-steward from the ***. here he is trying to justify his lies with more lies. Kelvin McKenzie.

"I regret Hillsborough," he said. "It was a fundamental mistake. The mistake was I believed what an MP said. It was a Tory MP. If he had not said it and the chief superintendent had not agreed with it, we would not have gone with it," he told the Commons national heritage committee in January, 1993.

The full truth won't come out until her who must be obeyed is dead. I expect this panel to sit for a long frustrating time before they get access to all the documentation.

On a lighter note wasn't it a Yorkshire copper who sent Stevie G off at castle greyskull?

Yeah that's him, allegedly he was one of Thatchers closest friends. Thatcher went to Hillsborough the day after I believe and them two, along with Duckenfield had a lengthy meeting...the day after The S**m printed their disgraceful lies.

Let's not forget Thatcher hated football fans with passion, thought they were just thugs, remember her failed attempt at ID cards for football fans.

Finally, although it's taken far too ****ing long. Hopefully it can start to lead to the families getting the justice they deserve. It's a ****ing disgrace.

About time.Good to see that the Liverpool fans have never let this lie even after over 20 years.Shocking that so many emergency personnel were outside waiting to come in yet were not allowed.

Could there be grounds for a prosecution ?

This is the problem, once the Goverment is responicble through what ever means, backs to the wall boys, old school tie. As far as the goverment is concerned its not about justice, its about who is resoncible and how much it will cost them in compo etc. Sickening the whole lot of it !

Very good news, all of us who where there saw it all with our own eye's and thats why this have never been allowed to be brushaed under the carpet.
Thatcher the next day and funnily enough all the transcripts of the conversations have dissapeared, as has been said here she had an agenda especially after Heysel, she also should be hawled across the coals

Very unlikely I would have thought. Might have more luck pushing for it in a European court of law
