The more established members here will remember the original "Twats XI", which sadly dwindled into non-existance. By popular demand, and in dedication to the original title winning squad of the Berksian era, I am happy to announce the inaugration of a new club for the 2004/5 season. In response to a recognised need for greater commercial opportunities, the "Twats XI" will be rebranded as "Gimps XI". Sponsorship deals are yet to be confirmed, and I would like to add at this point that rumours of Vernon Kay making a large personal contribution to the cause are pure speculation. The management of such a venture is a labour intensive and thankless task, and as such I would like to take this opportunity to invite all those who feel they may have a contribution to make to use this space. Input from experienced talent scouts and coaches is always invaluable, and I urge you all to be on the lookout for potential team members in time for the release of the first official team-sheet next Saturday. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Gimps XI, please refrain from using this space to make your claim. As with any club, the best path to the first team is to show consistent competence and ability. I feel the Premiership and Championship forums provide adequate space for this purpose, and our talent scouts will happily approach all those who show the desired qualities.
Thanks Kop... examples may be required prior to the release of Saturday's team sheet, in case I need to justify my decisions to the tabloid press.
I put forward SFCFAN for his incomprehensible efforts in which he seems to think Southampton are any good.
Aparently No Nonsense and Slim Shady are one and the same, if that is not true then both are certs for a starting place .
Thanks for the clairifcation there Stret... I was worried about the possibility of naming the same gimp twice.
MightyMancs have him as a team mascot, he will be no good on the pitch, with his constant back peddiling he will spend more time in row Z then on the pitch.
Update After careful consideration, the management of the Gimps XI have finally settled on a nickname for the club; The Whipping Boys. The jury is still out on the naming of the stadium, but we are hopeful that several commercial offers will work their way towards us before the weekend. Capacity is no longer an issue, since DFS have offered the use of a three piece leather suite if we agree to take Linda Barker off their hands.
I would've seen our victory over your poor selves had I not had to travel about 5 billion miles from Newcastle to do so.
I'd like to nominate BarnetTwat. I believe he was included in the original Twats XI but, we can't take to the field without a jumped up twat...
