It all got a bit chaotic today with the growing list of postponed matches from 12noon onwards! It has left a vast array of scoring and unfortunately has meant that instead of being down to making the right selections, scoring has been impacted by whether a person was able to be online at the right time which is definitely not how I want the results to be dictated. That being said, we did get scores an the week high score has impacted the top of the table as Tomohawk takes the high score for the week and it means I jump back to the top of the table. Definitely doesn't feel deserved though considering SalopTillIDie endured 3 of his selections being postponed and removing the chance of a full house bonus as per the games rules. In that same boat are also Cal_BCFC, CFC91 and shudewill who all score well but ultimately miss out on a full house bonus because of this rule - as it was a rule I have copied over from the game rules before I took over running, I am now reviewing this and will post some ideas to make this a little more flexible separately. Anyway, back to the scoring and it is StretfordEnd who takes the 2nd highest score of the week as he keeps himself very much in the title race with a full house bonus whilst Connor also bags a full house to close the gap on those above him. We have one other mover in the league table as RedDogChris rises above TAFKAP and back to within touching distance of the top 10. At the bottom of the table, having clawed back some of the deficit last week, lendal slips slightly further adrift this week as the battle for the spoon goes on whilst Colinmorriswalksonwater struggles to just keep their own interest in the race to the bottom!

    Mini-League Series

With just 2 weeks of Season 4 left to play, I have managed to stretch my lead in The Super League group to 10 points with StretfordEnd now my nearest rival for top spot as he climbs into the top 2 as Daz_Blade slips a couple of places. Vanni remains very much in the race for the top 2 and Garrincha is now perfectly in the middle of a race to the top 2 and the bottom 2 at the same time, being 10 points away from either end. No change in the bottom 2 as SalopTillIDie and TAFKAP remain in the relegation spots.

Reigning Mini-League series champion Cal_BCFC is now The Premier Division group leader with him having pushed Super_horns down to 2nd place. There is only a further 5 points separating the next 3 players as shudewill, Connor & TLC are all within touching distance of promotion to the promised land but RedDogChris and CFC91 are both going to need some good scores over the next 2 weeks to escape relegation to the bottom group.

And in The Pub Division group Colinmorriswalksonwater continues their quest for promotion enjoying a healthy lead over the rest with Hashtag55 their closest rival but this group looks to be done!

    GOS League Trophy

We reach the 1st round proper of the GOS League Trophy and it looks like we are going into the 2nd legs next week with every game on an absolute knife-edge. RedDogChris holds just a 2 point lead over TAFKAP, with the same difference in the match that will decide who either of those 2 will play in the next round as TLC holds a slender lead over Colinmorriswalksonwater. SalopTillIDie and shudewill fought out a close tie with just 1 point separating them both but StretfordEnd does have a more comfortable 5 point lead over CFC91 in their tie. On the other side of the draw, current holder Vanni is off to a winning start as they defeat Garrincha to take a 6 point lead into the 2nd leg whilst I hold an 8 point lead over Connor. Tight affairs in the last 2 ties as well with Cal_BCFC taking a 4 point victory over Daz_Blade and Super_horns defeating Hashtag55 by just 3 points in their match up.

All of your scores for the week, along with the new table, latest League Trophy results and the latest mini-season tables can now be found below. Navigate through the different weeks by clicking on the tabs at the bottom. If you spot an error then just let me know!

The players are in alphabetical order to give you a clue as to how far you have to scroll right to find your scores and it is still the same in that the league tables include the number of Full Houses (FH), Not To Scores (NTS) and Double Points Selections (DB) you've been successful with as well as your total points. I will use those 3 things (in this order) to determine the outcome of any ties :)

With regards to postponed matches and full house bonuses, the current ruling is that any more than 1 postponed selections means no full house bonus available. I am proposing the following:

    • If less than 10 matches are postponed on Saturday morning, a max of 1 postponed selection is allowed to keep the FH bonus valid
    • If between 10-20 matches are postponed on Saturday morning, a max of 2 postponed selections are allowed to keep the FH bonus valid
    • If over 20 matches are postponed on Saturday morning, a max of 3 postponed selections are allowed to keep the FH bonus valid
I will still continue to notify where I can so that players have opportunity to change any postponed selections.

Just a proposal so I am happy to take on feedback - my initial idea was for the number of postponed matches to be based on those games called off after 12noon on Saturday as I originally thought it would be reasonable for most to be able to get on at some point on a Saturday morning, particularly if the weather is bad all over! The only reason I removed this from the proposal is because I appreciate some may travel to away games or be doing family stuff all day on a Saturday.

Anyway, let me know what you think of this, or any ideas of your own you have or indeed whether you think it should just stay as it is with the max 1 postponed selection rule!

Entirely your call as you're running it (brilliantly), but personally I reckon it will make things more complex. As I say though, whatever you think is the way to go is fine by me.

Agree with @StretfordEnd. Gutted I checked this before 3pm yesterday as I'd have had a full house if I left it

Ok, so having slept on it and taking on the bits of feedback above (mainly @StretfordEnd - thanks mate), I think I will just leave the postponed matches rule as it is in that it can only ever be a maximum of one postponed selection to make a full house valid! This rule has existed for many years and my idea would over complicate things and create potential grey areas and having thought about it, everyone is in the same boat and we all have access to the forum 24/7 via our many devices

Could have been a worse week for me with the late postponements, happy to have got online to catch the evening games, as we were away with family in Leicestershire for the weekend. Just arrived back in good old Southend. Back to more gloom on the football front and whether RM will get us out of the mire on 1st March, but at least this adds a bit of fun to football.

    Well done Tomo!!

Your call mate, cheers for keeping a top of things in this pickle @Tomohawk . I won’t complain, I’d have probably reverted back to Newcastle who scored zero if I knew about some of the late postponed game and lost my bonus anyway.
