Goals on Saturday 2023/24 - Week 9

Final call for @Cal_BCFC

 

It's caught a few out today, me being one of them. I nearly put Derby as my double but my hatred for them stopped me - glad I didn't go through with it now

I've added Oxford City and Altrincham to your selections as I missed the 17:30 kick off listing for this fixture from my original posting of the fixtures and it is quite obvious had it said that, you would have selected them both

 

No full house bonuses to be seen this week but we have a runaway high scorer this week as TLC claims that accolade for the first time this season, claiming her highest score of the season along the way, and rising 4 places into the top 10. The nearest scores to TLC's were 6 whole points behind but one of these was CFC91 who keeps themselves at the top of the table in the process. Remarkably, Cal_BCFC's late entry has led him to a joint second highest score of the week and lifts him into 2nd spot with myself slipping a place to 3rd. At the bottom of the table, Spaceman Spiff also claims a joint second highest score of the week to keep a gap between himself and Garrincha. Just above them, StretfordEnd slips below TLC in the battle of the admin, but keeps himself above TAFKAP. RedDogChris is another riser in the table this week and him and TLC have managed to shunt Super_horns, who claimed the lowest score of the week, Vanni, Stret and Daz_Blade downwards. shudewill is another worthy of a mention this week as he moves 2 places and into the top 5 after a strong showing this week.

Mini-League Series

There has been some movement in The Super League group this week but I still lead the way. However, my lead is down to just 5 points with TLC's strong week propelling her from a relegation battle to a top 2 position with Cal_BCFC maintaining 3rd place but shudewill sees his previous 2nd spot slip away as he drifts out to 4th. The bottom 2 places remain occupied by Vanni and RedDogChris but they are only a few points behind Daz_Blade so everything still to play for in the next 3 weeks.

The top 2 in The Pub Division remain the same but the gap between Garrincha and StretfordEnd is now just 1 point with CFC91 only being held outside of the promotion spots by virtue of Not To Score. Colinmorriswalksonwater is closer to the relegation zone, positionally but is closer to the top 2 points-wise whilst TAFKAP and Super_horns remain adrift in the bottom 2.

In the now reduced in size Pub Division, Well Stoned has been removed as they have disappeared meaning only 1 place at the bottom will lose points for the occupier. At the top though Hashtag55 remains the leader but his closest rival is now Spaceman Spiff who leaps a couple of places thanks to their strong performance this week. Panja slips out of the top 2 but only 3 points separate him from promotion whilst RedDevil19 is stuck in the red zone after this week.

GOS Tinpot Shield

The group stage is over for 3 of the groups with the larger group D now just to be completed. That means we know of 6 of our 8 quarter-finalists and in Group A, I managed to keep hold of top spot to qualify whilst Cal_BCFC's late, late show was enough to ensure he qualified for the next stage. Garrincha and Colinmorriswalksonwater go out.

In Group B, shudewill won the winner takes all tie with RedDogChris to go through as group winner with Panja taking the other qualification spot despite final game defeat to Spaceman Spiff. That means RedDogChris and Spaceman Spiff miss out for this season.

Group C was already decided last week but CFC91 made it 3 in a row to qualify as group leader whilst Super_horns goes through as well despite his defeat this week to TLC. And that means that RedDevil19 and TLC are the ones to go out at the first stage.

Group D goes on for another couple of weeks, and it is StretfordEnd who leads the way at the moment and Daz_Blade just behind with a 100% record from his first 2 matches. Hashtag55 remains in the mix, just 2 points behind 2nd spot but both TAFKAP and Vanni are yet to get off the mark from their first 2 matches.

The players are in alphabetical order to give you a clue as to how far you have to scroll right to find your scores and it is still the same in that the league tables include the number of Full Houses (FH), Not To Scores (NTS) and Double Points Selections (DB) you've been successful with as well as your total points. I will use those 3 things (in this order) to determine the outcome of any ties
