hmmm , no barton ,due to the red card , interesting
city on a roll (over and die )

were rubbish on boxing day , must be a turkey allergy , 2-2

some of the worst matches Ive ever endured have been on boxing day ,
last years norwich game 1-3 awful
remember losing to coventry at home 0-3 dreadful;our players looked comatosed , never mind pissed
going to then bottom club port vale in a top position losing 0-2 and looking like they d never met before
and 79 of course , mind you not many will remember that now its so long ago

Massive game, and one I feel we need to win. I think we will too, games like these are critical if we are to stay up, because Man City and Middlesborough will be the 2 that will definitely be there fighting along with us.

Barton's playing. Man City have appealed and it's not getting looked at until the day after.

Well we could really doing with winning this. You have improved considerably results wise recently and it will be a very tough match for us. I'd like to think we could edge it 1-0 although with our away form and how we have been playing recently it is difficult to see us winning. But I think there will be a bit of a reaction from the players after we played thoroughly sh*t in the last two games we are due a performance. Barton playing is also a boost for us. I reckon it will be 0-0 or 1-1 . I think it could well be between Sheffield United, City and Middlesborough for who goes down along with Watford or Charlton neither of whom can I see staying up.

Well we desperatley needed those three points, sounded that we were hanging on for dear life at times though. Good luck for the rest of the season though. I hope we both manage to stay up come the end of the season.

    Not there then Mr Luap???

Mind you your fans wont be back home for hours yet as there's an accident on the woodhead.

Must say that how we dint get anything today was beyond me, for all our endeavour and city's lack of creativity I though we meritted at least a point, if not all three.

The chances we missed though today are somethin that must be solved in January! It is blatantly obvious that we need a class striker to play up front with hulse if we goin to survive, and puttin on Nade is not going to do us any favours, this guy is raw sewage rather than an uncut diamond.

Now I know footballers are not the smartest biscuits in the jar but jumpin into people and scufflin, raising hands to people just isnt smart football not only does he give away needless free kicks which waste time but then argues to waste even more when there is precious little of it left. I just wish Mr Clattenburgh had given him another yellow n sent off back to the stone in France he crawled out of, if this guy had any potential he would have been with a top french club.

I thought in the middle of midfield was where we goin to potentially lose the game, and in the end did. As tonge and jags neglected any defensive duties again in search of a winner, we must learn to strike a balance because as today showed the goal knocked us out of our stride and we never really recovered from a position that looked like there was only gonna be one winner. I would have been inclined to switch S Quinn with Tonge and have the little Terrier bitin everyones ankles in the centre of the park rather than the lightweight Tonge, who might then have managed to get to the byline and open city open round the back.

Jags need to get back in the defense or we should sell him to raise some funds, since he has been back in favour in midfield his performances have gone downhill now this guy is a quality defender but not a premiership midfielder, and the sooner Mr Warnock realises this the better. (Even though he is the Goldenchild of Neil)

Anyway Chipper up, we've only got the gooners at the weekend

Not easy to get to Sheffield on boxing day from Oxfordshire, where I live. Sounds like you need a good striker badly, I know the feeling we have needed one since Cole left for Portsmouth.

I know we probably should have won, but you have to congratulate Man City on their defending, diving in front of everything. Wish our centre midfield would have as much bottle as that.

Jagielka in midfield is a waste of f*cking time, he should either play at the back, or not at all. And as for Tonge, he couldn't tackle his way through a paper bag. He's a f*cking poof. Get him out wide where he actually looks a decent player. Although he doesn't deserve to be there because S. Quinn is playing out of his skin. A. Quinn should come into midfield because he'll put his foot in and will drive forward with the ball. We need to strengthen the middle of the park in January, we haven't got an earthly of staying up if we don't in my opinion.

Need a win out of one of the next 2 games. Middlesborough is more likely obviously.

No disrespect to Man City, but how the fkk did you win that game. Sheff U had so many chances they should have buried City with a deluge of goals.

If you don't take your chances you get punished. We found that out against your lot last season if you remember.

You lot only had one that I can remember, and that was the goal. Oh, and that one that Kenny had covered until it bounced up and hit him in the fecking face.

Well you've got to give it to Man City. They maybe created two chances all game & converted one, meanwhile we were again guilty of squandering a host of good goal scoring opportunities. Albeit quite a few was down to good City defending, which was desperate at times but then it doesn't matter how you stop 'em going in as long as they stay out.

*Random match trivia* Highest ever all-seated attendance at Bramall Lane.

I put If you don't take your chances you get punished. key word, you. You had a lot of chances, you didn't take them, yes we only had one but we put it in the net. If your lot we able to finish the game would have been dead and buried.

You could tell it was a brilliant crowd, the Streetwise corner, or whatever it's called these days, was actually full.

all that effort and got nothing ,football does kick you in the teeth sometimes , they hit 1 sweet shot and then rely on weaver having the game of his life, theres no justice
1 penalty appeal apeice , cancels each other out, although ours was first and would have given us a lift

It was sweetly hit, but I feel Kenny was a bit slow getting to it, but you're right, Weaver did have a good game but it was nowhere near the game of his life. I've seen him do that many a time in a City goalkeeper Jersey

Whereas ours would have resulted in a red card as well as potentially bringing us back on level terms through a penalty (and the ball was definitely going in had Kozluk not punched it), but Davis' shot was going well wide.

... and the one that Samaras sliced out for a throw in... and Ireland's curler in the first half that Kenny palmed out... so that's 4 chances. The way you're banging on about it, you'd think you had played some free-flowing Arsenal-style football but both teams were shit, all your 'chances' came from set plays/balls into the box that we just about dealt with.

    Nicely summarised I reckon.
