Inverness Caledonian Thistle are close to completing the signing of Hearts striker Calum Elliot.

Transfer talks between the two clubs had previously reached a stalemate as Hearts sought a new manager.

However, with Csaba Laszlo confirmed as the new Tynecastle boss, discussions about the 21-year-old have resumed.

"We've spoken again and, from what we've heard so far, it's certainly encouraging," ICT director Graeme Bennett told the Inverness Courier.

Elliot came through the youth ranks at Hearts before making his debut in September 2004.

The forward had a loan spell with Motherwell during the 2006/07 season and has been in and out of the Hearts side since returning to club.

Elliot has scored 10 goals in 77 appearances for Hearts, including two against Inverness last season.
