Germany? Great, the next 5 days are going to be unbearable. 5 days of the 'keep politics out of football' bellends going on about World War II.

They were toothless against France, and struggled tonight? They’ve not been consistent at all. Id rather them than either Portugal or France, who have players that can really hurt us.

Home advantage can’t be understated either. Germany lose that advantage to England next week.

Germany are the only team to knock us out at Wembley in a tournament though.

But this German team is no where near as good as that one

Don't get me wrong, I'm quietly confident.

They are probably better than us, but I fancy our chances more than vs France or Portugal.

Well at least it’s got a bit of extra spice, they’ve conceded 5 and scored 6, I just hope we have the confidence to go for it.

    That was close.

Not deserved, imo. What a shite performance and I'm really pissed off about Leroy Sane. He could've played the ball in extra time to Kevin Volland and we would've won and being first and playing Switzerland. But no

Congrats to England for reaching the Quarterfinals next Tuesday (if we play again like this).

The only silver linings today was Jamal Musiala's 8 minutes stint and Leon Goretzka's shot (assist from Musiala). That gives hope for the future (after the Euro with new Bundestrainer Flick).

Tbh that was a rollercoaster. Most of the match we were out of the Euro and I already made my peace with it, then suddenly 3rd, then 2nd and 15 secs after our equaliser we were out again. Then 2nd again and then the big chance in stoppage time to even win it.
    Guys, I have a weak heart :D

:D I remember the headlines from Euro 1996 when I was in the UK. "Achtung. Surrender. For you, Fritz, ze Euro is over" ;)

edit: Thx to the internet, I found it again:

And if we beat Germany, it’s a potential feast of attacking football with us vs Sweden

tbh I’d be far less confident against any of those teams, than this German team. Relatively speaking this is an average Germany team. Still a good team though

Our ridiculous, unearned, daft hubris. Half this country act like they fought in the war! It will inevitably happen again!

    Please though, just no penalties...

    True.

Not yet but I'm very confident that after the Euro we go for it again.

Now my nightmare ( against England at Wembley) comes true. Maybe the addendum of my nightmare, too? (That would be losing against you guys in a penalty shootout)?

Anyway, as I said in my previous post. I've already made my peace with this Euro after we were out for most of this match. Tbh I had already thoughts like "Thank god it's the last match of Löw" but then the 1-1 and later the 2-2 happened and now I have to endure England.

tbh I would also be thankful if we could avoid it this time.

I mean it is what it is, if we made it to the SF again then still a good result.

History has a way of clouding folks minds.

Italy 1982 World Cup winners had piss easy 1st group drew all 3 games and only got through on goals scored.
Spain 2008 only really played Germany who they met in final, they did play a poor Italian side I suppose.
Also nobody ever mentions how easy Croatia route to the 2018 World Cup Final was.

I will add England actually played all group winners in the 2018 knockout stages.....

This is a great chance to go all the way to a final for either us or Germany. Just that the strongest opponent we could face in the knockouts will be the first one we play.
Makes a bit of a mockery of all those people saying they wanted us to finish 2nd to get an easier draw.
Now’s the time for Southgate to show he can beat more than just the minnows.

**** me that was a rollercoaster

Really happy with Santos’ team selection and substitutions tonight. Palhinha and Renato have to start against Belgium. Palhinha putting two tackles in on Kanye, breaking forward, nutmegging Pogba and laying it out wide was incredible

Do feel sorry for Hungary, after we beat them 3-0 I did think they would be whipping boys but they fought right until the end and were unlucky not to hold on

    Onto Belgium..

Edit - oh and I ****ing love Rui Patricio
