Since there's no race for a couple of week's, we may as well appreciate this outstanding lap again.

However that's not really the reason for this thread. People have been going nuts, some saying it's the best qualifying lap of the modern era while others even say it may be the best qualifying lap in F1 ever.

For me it's hard to judge it as the best ever, but one of if not the best in modern era most definitely. It was absolutely flawless and the grip was phenomenal.

So where do you stand in the debate, was it that good? Or is it just Hamilton fans getting carried away?

I don't know enough about F1 to talk about it being the best ever, but we've almost got used to Hamilton doing this, to the point where it's a surprise when he doesn't pull a pole position out of the bag somehow.

Watching that video I have only just realised how demanding that circuit is. That was 1 lap and looked tiring, imagine doing that for 60 odd in the race! Crazy.

Not an F1 fanatic but do like watching Hamilton when he is on the box, so really others would be better judging than me but I am just wondering what other bags of tricks he will do or perform next...if you can call them tricks or just plain bloody skill.

It’s crazy to think that at the time I thought it was a fantastic lap but didn’t realise how highly it had been rated purely because I ,as I’m sure many others do, just come to expect this kind of one lap brilliance from Hamilton

Whilst being slowly baked in a space suite! He looked fooked at the end and who can blame him, both physically and mentally draining.

Saw a stat somewhere that this pole lap was 9 seconds faster than the one he managed in (I think it was) 2015. I know that's more to do with car development but still, 9 seconds is a life time in F1.

One qualifying lap that does spring to mind is Schumacher at Monaco 2012. 43 years old and he put a brilliant lap in. Unfortunately it wasn't a pole lap as he had a 5 place grid penalty.

Trulli at Monaco in 04. 0.1 seconds down and schumacher in the first sector, to then go 0.5 seconds faster by the end of the lap.

It was a flawless lap tbf. No locks ups, no going wide, no mistakes and look how close he hugged those walls!!

He is the best Qualifier of all time for a reason and in Singapore he showed his class on a track Ferrari were supposed to dominate!!
