How are you all doing? Nice to meet you all! As you can see, I am a Newcastle fan from the south and have been a fan since October 1993. I am truly excited about the future of our club and really happy about how good Eddie Howe has been doing, and I am confident he will keep us up this season!
Nowt wrong with being a Newcastle fan from the South - I've been down here for most of my life Welcome to FF Howe seems to have gotten the players actually enjoying doing their jobs and playing as a team which sadly is something they haven't done for many years - right now I'm just happy that people seem to have stopped laughing at us
Oh, that's cool! Whereabouts in the South are you from? I'm from near Portsmouth. Thank you for the welcome! Yes, definitely! I remember how much I enjoyed the Kevin Keegan and Bobby Robson era and there is nothing more I would love to get those glory days back and experience that type of success again. lol funnily enough, people at my workplace who are Man Utd, and Liverpool supporters still think Newcastle will go down and want them to go down Also, the Man Utd fan called us an oil club (which is what we hear all the time now), yet, it's ironic since Man Utd has a sponsorship deal with Saudi Arabian companies.
I'm just over the border in Berkshire - Reading so I've been lucky enough to see Newcastle play at both Reading and Portsmouth over the years down here. Married to a Spurs fan from Halifax who's one of the other owners on here Hope you like it here, we're not too mad or weird here
Why? Is this an attack? What a great first impression you have, huh? Commiserations for you when you go to St James' Park on Saturday.
If you want to see an attack on Portsmouth, have a look in the Pompey thread in the league one section Welcome! I have a soft spot for Newcastle as I went to uni and lived there for around 7 years
lol I just thought it was weird because I'm not even interested in Portsmouth in any way (though I have been to their stadium), so I don't care about them. Thank you for the welcome! How did you find the university?
Welcome here at FF and greetings from Germany! I also enjoyed the Kevin Keegan era, but in Hamburg at HSV. He's still my all-time favourite english player. I still have my HSV shirt that he signed after a training session (although it's now too short for me to wear, because I was 15 when he signed it in 1978 , but I wouldn't do that anyway). Legend!
Loved it! Just fell in love with the whole city hence why I decided to stay and settle in Jesmond for several years after
Hi @SouthernMagpie101 My Dad's side of the family are all Geordies and my wife's family all live in Hampshire so I know both very well. Whereabouts are you?
Oh, that's cool! I am from a place called Waterlooville, I dunno if you've heard of it? It's actually about 30 minutes from Portsmouth Cascades shopping center.
Yes, I know exactly where it is! We're actually looking at moving to the Westbourne area so we'd almost be neighbours I've got really fond memories of Newcastle from when I was a kid, particularly Morpeth and Bedlington. My brother still lives on the outskirts of Morpeth and is a huge Toon fan.
