Evening all. Over the last couple of days I've been receiving messages about my hotmail account being compromised. I reset my passwords and thought nothing of it, until today when I attempted to log on to my facebook account only to find I'd been banned for supposedly posting sexually explicit material relating to a minor Not exactly what you expect to see when your facebook wall is as boring as mine, and I'm sure the only porn I've ever posted was of the dwarf variety. Anyway, I digress... Apart from being able to click a 'Request Review' button once (without adding any more info) it appears I can't do anything else to question the decision. I just have to wait and hope they reverse the decision within 30 days otherwise my entire account is deleted. Every time I try and submit a form via the facebook website it asks me to log in, then tells me I'm banned and can't access any pages, so I'm at a bit of a loss what else to do. Anyone got any advice? I'd rather not lose my account as while most of my recent photos are backed up there are plenty of memories on there from back in the day which I'd love to keep. It'd also be a ball ache losing contact with so many people. Cheers.
Unfortunately it sounds like you may have fallen victim to a phishing scam which harvested your password via a fake password change form. Facebook are notoriously bad when it comes to appeals. I once got a temp ban for calling myself an idiot, and another for quoting the lyrics to Fairytale of New York in a post about the Pogues a few days before Christmas - appealed both times and was roundly rejected. The post calling myself an idiot breached their rules on abuse, and the other was clearly homophobic in nature. All you can do is try to reach out to support, but they incorporate so much poor AI and offshore workers whose culture is wildly different from ours in the moderation teams that I wouldn't hold out much hope unfortunately. Rather than appealing the ban directly, perhaps report your account as compromised/hacked?
That's the problem, I can't even report it as when I log in I literally see a page saying 'A review has been requested' and nothing else. I can't access my account or any help features while logged in. It's purely just that page. I've tried reporting it via my wife's account but they've removed the 'Report a Friend's Account as Hacked' feature so I've just sent a couple of messages via random report buttons and hoped for the best. Nothing's been done yet and I think I've got about two weeks left until it's permanently disabled. I've reached out to their twitter account as well but not expecting anything from that either. Unless someone can give me a direct contact I think it's just a case of waiting and probably accepting it's going to be deleted. Probably not the worst thing in the long run (I was getting sick of it and spending far too much time scrolling through crap anyway) but it'd be nice to get back into it for a few hours so I can at least rescue some old photos/contacts. Thankfully I had the foresight to buy more cloud storage last year so all our precious baby/cat pics from the past six years are safe.

I didn't even clock that. Yeah I guess emailing has a better chance than what you're currently trying.
I've asked about a million people and you're the first to provide me with an actual email address. I've since found two or three relating to hacked/disabled accounts, so cheers. Fingers crossed they're still active.
