For a club our size, wage structure, fan base, transfer budget etc we are doing really well. Don't listen to the few moaners on here and on claretsmad. The thing we need to improve is our away form, it really is shocking, but an interesting stat is that Stoke didn’t win an away game last season till April and they finished comfortably, so we just have to keep positive and have faith in Coyle.

I don't like to moan about players and saying "they are not good enough" but Caldwell is an exception for me, I think Coyle needs to find an experienced centre back who is cut out for the Prem but who will also fit into our 15k a week wage budget, not an easy task but something has to be done because I’ve seen oil tankers turn faster than Caldwell.

Hope your not classing me as one of the moaners. I just say things how i see them and we've got a lot more players than Caldwell who are not good enough for the premiership . Its not like we only started shipping goals since he got back into the side is it. Just for the record aswell incase anybody missed it i wouldnt have Caldwell anywhere near the side never mind being captain.

I think most of our side are championship standard to be honest but the simple fact is Coyle will have to stick with what he has because he wont be getting the backing needed to replace them. If he somehow manages to keep us up which i doubt very much he should be manager of the season. With what he's got to work with i dont think Coyle could be doing any better than he is right now.

Alexander, Joey Gudjonsson, Thompson, Duff, Blake, Caldwell not good enough for the premiership for me. If thats moaning so be it. Mears and Carlisle have done OK in most games but would either of them two walk into another prem side? Very doubtful for me. I could sit here and say all of our players ARE good enough but deep down i would think that was complete bollocks.

I still hear people say Blake is quality he scores the odd wonder goal and takes an OK freekick but apart from thast contributed next to nothing this season even in the home games and ive seen everyone at turfmoor so think i can make my own judgement on him. I bet if you asked Blake he wouldnt have expected to play as many games as he's done.

I cant see our home record alone keeping us in the premiership thats for sure. People can keep waffling on about Stoke's home record keeping them up last season all they like. SO unless we imporve on the road i reckon we'll be coming back down. Could do with at least two decent defenders who can handle the prem, dont see Coyle being given the backing to get them either.

I see where our board are coming from though not wanting to make the same mistakes as other sides landing themselves 20,30, or even 40m in debt just to give us a sniff of stopping up there. Would like to see Coyle given something to spend though. Only spent 4m or something close so far and that really is peanuts and pissing in the wind if they think that will come anywhere near giving us a fighting chance. Even if its loan players anything will do me aslong as we get some "QUALITY" in.
    CHAMPIONSHIP HERE WE COME!:coat

Why you interested in Burnley anyhow pal?

If we're going to stay up, it's going to be typical Burnley last game of the season style! :bananadance

What makes you so sure we'll stop up this season?

Made a decent start to the season but we've not won in 7 games now:(

What negativity on this thread; the fact is we might not have won in 7 games but we have had some tremendous draws all against clubs in the top 10

6th-Man City (A) 3-3 Looks like we conributed to Sparky's downfall
4th- Aston Villa (H)1-1 and Villa on a run
    9th- Fulham (H) 1-1 and Fulham on a run
3rd-Arsenal (H) 1:1 and robbed,Fletcher goal not offisde and we played like kings

The only match in the last seven where there was nothing positive to take away from it was the last one against Wolves when we never turned up and I have been to all seven(infact only missed Rovers this season so far)

We are doing fantastically well for a club such as ours on limited resources and if we get some points on the road we will be laughing if Fortess Turf Moor holds up.

Only 2 teams have been relegated in the past six seasons with a point tally more than 35 and none more than 38. 19 already so all we have to do is same again in second half. I am confident we can do it with the players we have, the players on the fringes coming through and the new faces hopefully that come in Jan window' Lets not forget also Chris McCann, Martin Paterson and Jay Rod waiting to return soon from injury

Playing how we have done away from home its hard to see where our next point will be coming from. Thats not being negative and if i had a pound for everytime the lack of money got brought up i'd own Burnley football club i really would. I'm like any Burnley fan when we play want us to win every single game and get well pissed off when we lose. Seems like you cant say anything on here without people thinking your having a go. All agree or nothing.

When i spoke about not winning in 7 that wasnt being negative just stating a fact and thats it. We gift sides most of their goals making life far too easy for them. Why do you think that is
Because we have top class players or players who cant cut the mustard at the top level? Or we going to keep kidding ourselves all season long on that or what?

Oh did you forget about Westham away. Yes we scored 3 goals but that was after going five nil down and game already dead and gone. Played alright at Portsmouth, failed to take what chances we had then let in two sloppy goals. Story of our season on the road or is that being too negative aswell. All well and good playing decent football in stages but its not always enough is it. Plenty commented on the good football Westbrom played yet they still went down so overall it ment jackshit.
